fuel burning power and rate is always a constant ..
no matter u put in a 3L .. 4L engine .. that rate is always CONSTANT .. wont change ..
we are assuming using the same fuel here .. and same amount fo fuel ..

so the amount of energy provided by the fuel is the same no matter how big ur engine capacity ..
Bigger engine gets more power out .. bcoz the put more fuel and air ...

so if the fuel able to push the piston for

4B10 at 7740mm / second ...
one stroke is 77.4mm x 2 for 4B10 ..
so 7740mm equalvalent to 50 x the piston travel up and down for 4B10 / second

the same amount of energy .. put into 4B11 ..
7740mm / second ..
one stroke for 4B11 is .. 86mm x 2 = 172mm (one cycle)
so 7740 / 172 = 45 x the piston travel up and down for 4B11 / second

again .. same amount of energy .. put in 4B12 ..
7740mm / second ..
one stroke for 4B12 is 97mm x 2 = 194mm (one cycle)
so 7740 / 194 = 39.90 x the piston travel up and down for 4B12 / second
4B10 -> 50 times / second
4B11 -> 45 times / second
4B12 -> 39.9 times / second

change to per min ..
4B10 -> 50 x 60 = 3000 rpm
4B11 -> 45 x 60 = 2700 rpm
4B12 -> 39.90 x 60 = 2394 rpm

so what does this means ??
the longer the stroke .. the engine need to work harder .. run faster to get the same RPM ... hence when u floor it .. for a shorter stroke .. the engine NO NEED WORK SO HARD .. the response will come faster .. longer stroke .. it work harder .. slower to come ..

Same reasoning applies as to why for F1 where engines rev till 18k rpm, their engines use massively short strokes.

Having a shorter stroke allows for faster rev and less friction heat build up. However in a long vs short stroke design, having a longer stroke will give better torque. This is why the 4b12 engine has a much higher torque number.

Then next up, majority of engine designers have actually said one of the best designs would be a square cube design where the stroke and bore are of same length, like in the 4B11. Also BMW noted that for them the best design comes from a cylinder which is 500cc, which is why BMW engines are famous for their 2l 4cylinder, 3l inline 6, 4l V8.
