QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 7 2012, 05:31 PM) Mtxx got it replaced free even with it unlock n rooted I guess as long as not physically damaged you can send in without any problem.. but strange.. I have flashed a lot of android devices.. haven seen one failed on me before.. worse case can use fastboot to flash the whole images again. This post has been edited by kof91: Oct 7 2012, 05:51 PM

QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 7 2012, 05:55 PM) I have also flashed every one of my Android since first nexus First time facing hard brick As saying goes there is always a first time n I have very good experience flashing My tablet cannot even boot to fastboot mode. If can I can easily flash back to stock Anyway confirm motherboard is fried.. Still don't know how this can happen yeah very hard to know, they can do failure analysis on the board to find out how it fails. but I doubt nowadays they do it coz the cost is so low for a motherboard compared to 10 years ago. unless it is a mass failure with same symptoms.

QUOTE(William_Yeo @ Oct 8 2012, 06:08 PM) guyz, i wanted to fallback to Stock Jelly Bean builds (upto 4.1.1 JRO03S).... how can do i from custom roms? easiest way is if you have done a backup in recovery before you flashed the custom rom.. jus go back recovery, wipe data then restore from backup

QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Oct 9 2012, 08:03 AM) If stock & rooted & perform restore backup in recovery, will loose root. Bootloader will it be lock or unlock? if the state of your system is rooted when you backup, when you restore is rooted as well.. restoring from cwm recovery backup does not change the bootloader state.. it will remain as before..

@chinti imo 8gb is barely enough, it may be so that you want to read ebook only. but the tablet can do much more that you may discover later it and you are stuck with 8gb.. that will be bad This post has been edited by kof91: Oct 9 2012, 08:38 AM

QUOTE(emy_xvidia @ Oct 9 2012, 09:45 PM) ya, hopefully yours will always stay ok. One thing that still baffles me is that, whats the cause of the holding? I believe this happens only to US residents or those who 'happen' to have US addresses like us because its not really a widespread issue, the only thing that I notice in the past few days is that, all the complainers are from the US/ official-supported countries by Google, mostly US. This doesnt happen to the rest of us, it's just us, the Nexus owners who claimed the USD25 free credit and use US addresses. But this isnt happened because we 'cheat' the system, some valid US residents also face this issue. There might be something else that triggers this lockups. Buying lots of apps at a time might trigger this. But to say this is the only factor isnt strong enough, as others (US residents) who happened to have a new Google account also faced this lockup. One thing that I really wish I could get back is that, to remove the fake US address in which I used to claim the USD25. Now it is fixed, not removable and only God knows if we could face this again in the future. there are minority cases from outside US complained as well (or maybe more ppl just give up assuming they are banned due to claiming the $25?). it has more to do with google wallet triggering some form of validation for ccard. claiming the $25 credit or not it still will happen.

QUOTE(teckyang97 @ Oct 9 2012, 10:59 PM) so that means if full means full?no need charge extra unlike other devices? actually charge extra is a myth.. no such need for li-on batteries.. jus charge until full and use.. to preserve good battery life.. try to recharge around 30% dun let it dip too low..

QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Oct 10 2012, 07:35 PM) When i receive the 4.1.2 update prompt, I think i will update with OTA Voodoo RootKeeper. If cannot retain root will root again via Tookit. Less hassle. What u guys think? that's wat I thought too after reading thru all the post.. manual update seems like a big hassle..

OTA update is so far only for JRO03D to JZO54K only 2 ways to update to JZO54K for those with other version than JRO03D 1. restore factory image whcih will bring you back to JRO03D then use OTA upgrade or 2. follow the following method (risky, as the bootloader update may boot loop) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929270This post has been edited by kof91: Oct 10 2012, 09:09 PM

I have successfully updated JRO03S to JZO54K using method 2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929270/edit: you will be have custom recovery and a rooted firmware first. 1. flash the bootloader 2. reboot to recovery and flash the full stock JZO54K firmware 3. clear cache and reboot all my apps and settings are intact.. smooth upgrade /edit2: QUOTE Recommended bootloader to install AFTER flash of this rom is 3.41 I flash bootloader first, but recommended to flash the rom first only update the booloader This post has been edited by kof91: Oct 10 2012, 10:22 PM

Got any difference? yeah old bootloader is 3.34, new one is 3.41 power off your tablet, press vol up+down and power button to enter bootloader, you can check the version number there new bootloader fix some ppl's problem entering custom recovery from bootloader.. the bootloader 3.41 comes with the official update. you will get the update if u use OTA update. else have to update manually..

QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Oct 11 2012, 06:29 PM) Guys i m trying to flash 4.1.2 with recovery. Fail a few times. Now when at "install zip" in recovery the prompt is - Install untrusted Zip? Shud i install? The zip file is downloaded from Google Server. Thx.. the version download from google server only works with JRO03D, if you are on this version you need to turn off verification from cwm option then only can flash..

QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Oct 11 2012, 07:53 PM) Maybe its could be the JRO03R binary drivers that i flashed a few days ago. Can i do a nandroid restore to stock. This will loose root. Will it wipe my apps & data? depending on when you backup.. it will restore (app/data state) to what you have at the moment u did the backup.. I know the original update files checks the build.prop for the correct version before updating. maybe due to the driver update ur build prop is updated to 3R.
