usually let the whole thing drop to the bottom. you can use a light shot sinker also. the falling motion entice the curious fish hiding. jerk it back fast will get you small ones. slowly hop around the bottom MIGHT get you biggies (50 up club).
when desperate, cast straight into the weeds and rip around the weeds. they will whack anyway... more pron... ![]() |

QUOTE(fishon @ Nov 22 2012, 01:11 AM) That's where the feathers come from. Good flies are not synthetic. when upsizing, keep maribou as tail, ditch the chenile and hackle, replace with bucktail and flashibou.I'll grab some bigger jig heads. Put a foam core and tie. That way the sink rate not so fast. Who wants to be my tester? Lol. I pass to you will stop them from tangling up with the bend / throat. |

haha... then good news to you that the budget fly set is back in stock.
ross essence FS + fly marque reel with line and backing for 399. i tend to shy away from epoxy. saving up for Loon uV, meanwhile 5ringgit elianto nail polish is the way to go. |

i think there's a fishing club at taylor college. try contacting them see if you can get them to offer you a spot for their occasional fishing at that pond. mostly haruan, but surprise catches can be koi, tortoise, chair, tables, tennis balls especially...

QUOTE(inv @ Dec 1 2012, 01:29 PM) my new old-toy came in pieces... so you replaced a bearing or upgraded? haha...well, not exactly in pieces but this will teach me not to buy without checking out the condition of the reel. bought this 2nd hand off some dude in facebook. If the price is too good to be true, it's probably is. the reel felt like a grinder. took apart the reel to find the source. manage to narrow down the culprit, which was the pinion brake bearing. wasn't too costly to replace. basically did a full service on the reel. upgraded the bearing count as well. now the reel feels just like new. |
