I'm planning the following mods on my 1.5 VDO Satria;

1) Powerzone 4-2-1 extractor <--price? (should I get a full 1.75" exhaust aswell or main stock pipes?)
2) CAI intake (maintain my stock air filter or "high flow" type?)
3) Lightened crank pulley (not undersized)

Looking for improved response & torque across the rev range. Are those the right mods to achieve those goals?
*
good choice to start with...

1) powerzone extractor cost about rm4xx
2) recommend u to get drop in air filter... but with the u-snorkle removed.... U-snorkle causes vr high restriction in the air flow coming in...
3) if u got budget, get methology lor..

not worth the change.since urs is a vdo, just de-cat and replace the resonator with a bullet.maintain the same piping following the original route.

any one can cut and paste, the point would be the explanation.
*
wira se extractor is good enough rite??... what about the oem piping size??... unsure.gif

Sup guys.
Been wondering, whats the metal flat plate think called at the muffler tip, silencer?
Does that thing really help reduce noise?
I got my tanabe H-medalion used, so it doesnt come w/ that plate.
Im getting old now and my exhaust sound can be heard from miles away when cruising on PLUS.
*
silencer lor... if not wad flat metal plate??... unsure.gif

anyone can tell me what is the bad part if I never change my exhaust pipe that is rusted inside ? FC will increase?
*
sooner or later ur exhaust pipe will fall off in the middle of the road....

a leaking exhaust pipe (bocor) will increase fuel consumption as well....

pipe not that big la.. not like those pipe where kucing also can go in and breed.

my engine is 4g13.. also same setup as blueapple.
but if put another s-flow jsut before the muffler.. i think power sure reduce.
*
too much restriction will cause bad power and high fuel consumption... what is ur setting now??...

QUOTE(zilole9729 @ Jan 14 2009, 12:17 PM)
bro, can i ask this, normally the sound can reduce bout how many percent? roughly la...
*
this i dunno how to count wor.... depends on ur s-flow inlet and outlet... pipe diameter... engine displacement... muffler... etc.....

QUOTE(blueapple @ Jan 14 2009, 04:58 PM)
makan petrol depends on setting?

which setting is more makan petrol and which setting will save petrol. please enlighten me  notworthy.gif
*
normal one which suitable for street use...

4-2-1 extractor... original route piping... midbullet (replace ur oem midbox/catcon)... s-flow/straight flow muffler....

piping size depends on ur engine displacement and what u had modded.... what engine are u using now??

wanna ask, if change muffler only and everything else remain stock, what is the benefit i get? better performance?
*
from s-flow to abit larger straight flow muffler... u get very minimal improvement in performance... which is mainly at the higher rpm range... lower rpm range feels nothing different...

guys wanna ask tis settin okie anot on 4g13p

4-2-1 p.z --> 2" pipe --> bullet mid size --> 1.75" pipe --> 2.5" tanabe straight
*
bad for low end torque... 2" and 2.5" abit too big...

try maintain 1.8" all the way.... end muffler can go for 2" max... any higher can la, u get what u install... smile.gif

i'm using standard waja 4g18.
i just wanna change to open pot/high performance air filter n 4-2-1 extractor n standard s-flow ekzos.does this increase car performance?
*
this would be my recommendation for street use car...

drop-in k&n air filter
tuned length 4-2-1 extractor
midbullet replace ur catcon
1.8"~2" inlet s-flow muffler

better still if u replace the piping with a little larger ones... this depends on ur budget...

QUOTE(apeq @ Jan 25 2009, 04:09 AM)
hello guys..need advice for my auto 1.3 myvi..
currently my mod is K&N drop in,4-1 hotbits extractor,1.6inch piping and at the back got 1 sflow box before the last straight flow muffler..
before this i put a twisted centre bullet but my topspeed drop a lot(140kmh only)..
so i remove the bullet and make it straight from the extractor until the sflow box and the straight muffler..
the top speed come back and can reach until 170kmh at the earlier..
but after two weeks running on this mod i feel my car a bit underpower..doesnt feel like earlier after i remove the twisted bullet.
fren of mine, auto also but with stock condition, only on 17inch rim can easily overtake me.. sad.gif
need some of the 'taiko' advice here.. icon_question.gif
thanx!
*
losing that back pressure, giving a more free flow, do affect that bit of lower end torque... for small displacement engines, that bit of difference can make alot of difference..

I am also using 2" max for my 4G92p

HotBits 4-2-1 extractor
2" piping mendrel bend + midbullet replaces catcon
S-flow muffler, 2" inlet and 2" outlet

KAo tim, simple setup, noise is very very much softer than my previous straight flow
*
2" for 4g92 MIVEC is jz enough.... brows.gif
