This is the future of SS16 (Jalan SS16/1), also known as SJCC (Subang Jaya City Centre) in 2015. An upcoming international landmark with world class facilities and infrastructure in the Subang Jaya metropolitan area. In the coming future, there will have a link indoor bridge from SJCC through the Federal highway to the upcoming commercial development Kencana Square in Glenmarie.

The whole development is designed by Benoy, a world-class leader designing company from UK (founded in 1947). Many world class developments such as ION Orchard, Manchester City Centre , Hong Kong International Airport and many more are designed by them. For Benoy, SJCC would be their first project in Malaysia. Here's a link to their website, http://www.benoy.com/. This is the quick link to their portfolio http://www.benoy.com/projects/29/all/all

ARTICLE:

Sime Darby Property, the project owner and one of the largest developers in Malaysia has instructed Benoy to deliver a masterplan for the first transit-orientated development in the heart of Subang Jaya, Malaysia. The concept of the master plan is to create a multi-modal transport hub that successfully integrates a mix of retail, hotel, service apartments, SOHO and office suites to create a unique landmark destination reducing dependency on cars so forming an integral part of the Subang Jaya City Centre’s vision for a green and sustainable future.

With a site area of 9.2 acres and spanning nearly 1 km, the development will create destination for living, working and for leisure. It will be easily accessible through a network of major highways, KTM commuter train, future LRT elevated rail and serviced via a dedicated ‘park & ride’ facility. One acre of landscaped linear park at street level with car free pedestrian routes and cycle paths provide links to other destinations in the vicinity. Linear parking along the street separates car traffic from cycles and pedestrians providing safe routes and interesting public space for the enjoyment of the community.

Landscaped areas will be irrigated by rain harvesting from OSD thus maintaining the development's green vision. With a series of sunken landscaped pockets and major event spaces dispersed along a street-level pedestrian promenade, the exciting retail offering is envisaged to be a permeable urban edge designed to maximise retail sightlines – achieving a balance between creative aesthetics and commercial viability.

Inspired by the natural history of the site and the intricate patterns of the oil palm tree, the design concept seeks to create an architectural language which stitches the various components together. The development will be crowned by a simple yet iconic roof element which will weave along the rooftop landscaped spine.

Wow, it will link together with UOA's Kencana Square to Glenmarie?
When is it going to start, and roughly how long of this project?

I wish they will link the system to Batu Tiga KTM station. More development/projects are happening there nowadays.

Directly opposite Kencana Square.

The pedestrian bridge will connect both developments since SJCC is integrated with Public Transport.
