Ok, let's say I'm using my iPad at my office, from 10am to 6pm, I didn't leave my table, and is it safe to plug in my iPad into power adapter and use it for the whole office time even it is already fully charge? Or I have to unplug it as soon battery full then only use? Sorry for my English

Why would u wan to do that? I think it would make the battery life weaker after a long period of time...

Why do u need to plug 24x7? Battery will kaput within a year. A fully charged iPad can last up to 2 days if u not watching movies or playing music. Mine is new iPad 4G, battery can last 2 days with normal usage.

Yea, i guess better don keep it charged all the time ( I mean every day for constant 8 hours where the battery is already full ).
BTW, is it ok i always charge my new iPad at around 30% left ? And i can only use it for 1 day ( after long time of 3G web browsing ) and at the end of the day left around 40-50% which i will charge it as i wan a full charge to start my new day. By this, is it my battery will die sooner as well ? @@ |

I wouldn't mind charging it with 100% battery, if youre using it a lot , the battery is going drain pretty quick. sooner or later the battery is goin to be in weakening state with care or not.

so recommended to use the battery as low as possible before recharge?
as checked from battery information from wiki, there have some causes that may shorten battery life so called "Memory Effect"... beside laptop, i guessed better no to keep charge any portable devices all the time... |

Apple Store charges their iPad all the time. I think that's fine lol.
My usage pattern, charge at night, use for the next day. Repeat. |

It stops charging once its full so yes it's okay to leave it plug in. It's also better to use your battery till 20% then recharge. Do this once a month.

Guys, pls don mislead other user, go study abt battery first before comment, did u guys know this is 2012? Even nokia at 2006 already got the auto cut off when it fully charged , u guys stil stay on 2006 technology? Pls la it will auto cut off ur current, don believe? Try let ur connecter connect to ur ipad when fully charge, u will saw the percentage drop after certain time, after it detect at certain discharge level, the battery will auto recharge again. When charging ur ipad will feel hot, but after fully charge ur ipad wont hot even u stil plug with ur charging connector , mean it's not charging after fully charge.
It apply to same as u fill fuel at petrol station, it will auto cut the fuel to fill ur tank when it's full |

my MBA remains the current flow when the indicator light turns green (fully charged) and yes, I am plugging it all the while when I am home with it. No harm to it, as when it is fully charged, it uses the current from a/c

Yes , what you're saying is true, after its been fully charged and your iPad is still connected , it will just use the electric instead of sucking up from the battery. It apply to same as u fill fuel at petrol station, it will auto cut the fuel to fill ur tank when it's full |

My bro's iPad2 died yesterday - always plug to AC outlet. Now can't even power up. Only power up when AC is connected. I suspect either battery or some charging circuit kaput. Will send in for warranty next week.

I suspect either battery or some charging circuit kaput. Will send in for warranty next week. same happened to my colleague sony ericsson xperia which use less than 1 year, he claimed that his hp battery cant last for half day without charging, under normal usage and killed a lot of background apps but still doesn't seem the improvement... He claimed that previously he always plug cable onto his laptop to upload/download data and charging most of the time... for mine, i used samsung galaxy ace for 1 years+, battery still can last 2-3 days under normal usage as i charge my hp while low battery level only... |

It apply to same as u fill fuel at petrol station, it will auto cut the fuel to fill ur tank when it's full actually it wasn't the matter of keep charging or auto cut off when full... it is the matter of "Battery Memory Effect" will cause the poor battery performance... i'm from portable wireless devices background previously which required high battery output for full functionality and facing some failure of battery sometimes due to improper usage. based on my experiences, i understood most of latest equipment will auto cut off when fully charged and will charge again when battery level drop to 95% (for ipad and MacBook) something to optimize the power capacities "once-a-while"... but it may "telling" the battery 95% is the low battery condition and seem the battery "remember" the smaller capacities instead from the 5% charging... so the reasons of "poor" battery isn't the high wear and tear issues, it is because we are no activating 100% of battery chemical for the long run as we are charging for the 5% only, so battery seem that it become "lazy" as work lesser... if charge from 80/90% will "wake up" the battery which required battery to "active" all the time... just my 2 cent from my experience... |

I always left my ipad overcharge from night till morning. I think apple IOS will stop the charging once it reached 100%.
Apple does in fact display the iPad (and iPhone and iPod Touch) as 100 percent charged just before a device reaches a completely charged state. At that point, it will continue charging to 100 percent, then discharge a bit and charge back up to 100 percent, repeating that process until the device is unplugged. Doing so allows devices to maintain an optimum charge, Apple VP Michael Tchao told AllThingsD today. “That circuitry is designed so you can keep your device plugged in as long as you would like,” Tchao said. “It’s a great feature that’s always been in iOS.” |
