I dunno guys. Maybe its because I am a big proponent of t-nation, that I prefer the "eat everything in sight to get big and don't worry too much so long as you take in the requisite amount of protein and your lifts are goin up" approach.

My experience both personal and from advising beginners is that calorie and macro measurement gets old real quick especially in Malaysia. It's not beginner friendly and people get frustrated real quick, especiallyif they have poor self discipline, lots of social obligations and poor food choices (usually the last two go hand in hand, plus most Malaysian food is absolutely not healthy lol)

Then again I'm not sub 10% BF so who am I to give advice lol.

The problem with that, is that we are in malaysia.

The food here are really very carb based, whereas in the western countries there are more options for protein, and cheaper too.

I have not reached the level where I'm cooking my own food and bringing it to work. My diet still sucks but I try to make the best of things.

Eating everything in sight might not be a good idea here.

Well it really depends on your starting point.

Skinny yes I think they shld eat everything in sight and only ensure adequate protein. Obese well maybe take a different tack and cut the carbs.

The macro counting strategy works both ways. Colleagues say let's go to this noodle place for lunch. High on the carbs low on protein. Are you gonna say no? I can and have but not many people will however. What about dinner with the gf when she says she wants pasta. Or family Chinese dinners or Buka Puasa with colleagues.

It gets real confusing for a beginner and sometimes when faced with the choice of giving up social life or healthy diet, most choose to give up the diet. Heck I know I almost did, lol!

I just need a nasi lemak, several pieces extra fried chicken and a couple of protein shakes. There, simple cal counting.

They are Pro and whatever they way of understanding and style makes them at what level they currently in. Is they level of understanding and style wrong when that makes them become a pro? I highly doubt it.

But, when somebody says that you need mass gainers to grow because of the word mass gainers and protein for body shaping and toning, does this sound wrong?
