QUOTE(aaron @ Sep 21 2006, 09:16 AM) i got a question to ask...what is the used of external flash? Aaron, Speedlight is the name of Nikon flash.do external flash = speedlight? from what i know, if we using build i flash to shoot pic,we can see our flash light in the pic but if using the external flash unit,we wont see the flash light in the pic, is that true? Mostly the builtin flash got only GN11-13 and we r hardly to control the GN, so the result will turn out harsh. External flash mostly will provide higher GN, more control and able to do bounce flash but different brand will provide different external flash actually. If u r shoot directly to the subject by external flash, the result will depends on ur GN, distance and also aperture. Using too much power in the distance the result will still harsh like builtin flash. Bounce flash will need to depends on which item u r going to bounce too, if the ceiling too high properly we cant get well bounce, and if it is not white, the white balance will get lie. Normally we calculate like this: Required flash-to-subject distance = GN / f-number This is wat i know la..wish got help.. This is the example i found from net. There is always got many method to fill the flash. The person r very well in the flash control for portraits. Click ME This post has been edited by thorrey: Sep 21 2006, 11:46 AM |
