cause last time when i went and test the new promedia the best price i can get is RM7XX. but u compare it to a Rm500 logitech

nope, tat's wrong. cable n power conditioning are consider less affecting in SQ due to their expensive price. but, if u try like jump grade, thn cable do hav very significant affect. but i dont really recommend u to try cable for ur speaker. normally ppl will advise u to spend only 10% of ur budget on cable.  try play cable after u get something like Audioengine A5+ or Swan X4.

actually not like tat, every sound devices also will hear differences with better cable. jz the problem is the raw material for better cable are expensive. like pure gold > pure silver > pure copper. but these cable, even the best 1 don't affect the whole system a lot. so ppl tend to budget with 10% only.

jz for example, a 10k cable really giv gud sound. even u try in ur 1k speaker system also can hear differences. but with 10k u buy a speaker and amplifier, the differences will be more significant. so will u buy 10k cable or 10k speaker and amp?

there is no best budget cable around, cause cable has few types of characteristic (such as cold, warm and etc) and u need to choose depend on ur taste. and sometimes, I will like to use cable to tone the sound. it's easy to jz swap the interconnect cable and hav a totally different sound type according to the taste u want. but for speaker cables, i recommend kimber kable or transparent audio. kimber kable has some bad look and lack those wrapping of other cable, but for the price against SQ, i think its easy to rec. transparent audio is for its factory terminated cable tat has the filter.

better buy a DAC first, cause those cable tat i said cost at least RM300 above.

anyway copper had better conductivity compared to gold... so don't bother investing on gold cable other than silver and copper.

gold is the best conductor that can withstand oxidation and that's all

hmm, i read some where before but i don't remember where. it said tat gold conductor do has better sound thn silver. conductivity is not the only parameter tat affect sound quality. but i doubt we will see many gold conductor cable as those from china are aggressively stocking them up. whn i talk about gold, i do mean real gold. not like here, whn saying bout invest in gold, what we get is jz some bank book instead of real gold.

Don't understand your statement when you meant by "dirty bass", bloated bass at 125hz - 250hz frequency range. mid bass, upper bass? Those kind of generalization of describing sound is very vague.

hmm, i also not sure wat ur problem is... anyway, wat DAC are u using? source is important as well. if the DAC is not up to the standard, getting more expensive amp + speaker also may not solve it.

even the DAC do hav 7.1 surround but i doubt it has DTS certified...

that's why for me, i think the most easy way is to decode the DTS with Sonic / ArcSoft DTS decoder and pass the audio stream as pcm or other loseless format... unless i get myself a dts certified av receiver XD

i actually satisfy wif the C3, for a speaker tat cost RM420 2 years bac... it's quite a nice 2.1 speaker... dun compare wif 2.0 speaker though XD

if u wan playback, jz get a dts plugin for foobar and use the downmix channel to stereo available in the DSP of foobar.

for splitting and conversion audio file, if anything involve DTS i recommend use audiomuxer and select the dtsdecoder from arcsoft.

Any recommendation for a 2.1 speaker setup for my desktop without breaking the bank and good looking? I want the speaker to be wall mounted.

Been looking at the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 and they look perfect. But it's 900+ at harvey norman 

Budget around 400-500.
