You need to up your budget to RM800++
1) Aego M (best for music) 2) Creative T3. (all rounder) both are 2.1 speakers. I use the Aego-M for my Yamaha digital piano. |

QUOTE(thevool @ Feb 17 2015, 12:31 AM) Hi Tekki, if you can, since you have a Xonar Running it through standard motherboard audio out "Realtek" driver only. I'm not so well versed with these soundcard thingy. I actually tried installing my old Xonar U1 Audio Station and using it, after removing the Realtek driver. I don't remember the exact issue, but if not mistaken, something didn't worked correctly. So I uninstalled the Xonar U1 Audio Station soundcard. I think it didn't worked well with my DAW, Asio4all or something like that. I do agree with what you said. Should I still use back the Xonar U1 external soundcard, and get a better speaker? im not exactly well versed either, but i know that com out is terrible when it comes to audio, hence with a budget of yours it will be limited by the line out. i would suggest that you reinstall the xonar, test with your current speaker and see if its better, if not then you upgrade la. i googled your speaker and it has a huge sub, that might be the reason for boomy unrefined bass, i would suggest you to see if you can control it via the system (some of them got bass control) or turn down the low end eq on your computer. it might just balance it out and save you a few hundred bucks just a benchmark, with 700-800 you can get quite good audiophile grade speakers. im sorry im a terrible audio eq guy, i tend to ask people to see what they can do first and not buy stuff |

QUOTE(thevool @ Feb 17 2015, 01:31 AM) I'm actually considering 2.0 speakers if i change speakesr... Stick with 2.1 2.0 bass really tarak. Speaking of 2.0 speakers, do they really lack in the bass? I don't need boomy/deep bass. I just need clear bass with a good enough punch. Should I stick back to 2.1 , or try 2.0 ? Just worry on the bass department. You can buy an Asus DX/DGX/DSX (forgot exact model) around RM200+. These are very good for music and gaming already and will complement better speakers nicely. btw, here's an Aego-M review link. http://www.trustedreviews.com/Acoustic-Ene...Speakers-review Probably RM8xx now. You won't find this in computer shop. Can only find in Hi-Fi shop. Last time i bought from a HI-FI shop in SS2, there's a forumner here selling... Can't remember his nick...Kucingfight or Kucingtiger or something...LOL. |

QUOTE(thevool @ Feb 17 2015, 01:28 AM) No worries at all ! That's exactly what I should do too. "Prevention better than cure." I actually keep the bass knob around 2.5 (max 10) . And even the realtek's built in eq is set to like an ascending EQ setting. Low bass to highest treble. Even this doesn't stop the muddy/boomy undefined bass. I can see this current speakers of mine as good for movies/gaming and casual music listening (especially the bass lovers) . Anyway, thanks for the suggestion and reminder on trying the Xonar U1 again. Will do just that and see what happens! Maybe i would get it to work properly this time. If not will get the music recommended speakers from the pinned thread. try turning it off, see if it improves, then adjust eq settings. also try and see where you position your subs, most people place it under the table (like i do) or some corner that it can be forgotten, try if you can placing the sub in an open area and test. if you have a back speaker on the sub, dont face it to the wall the issue based on my experience is that com speakers tend to have this bloated, muffled bass, like you go to a CC then someone is playing CS and shoots an AWP, the whole room is filled of just bass. the biggest culprit of this tends to be the sub, as satellite speakers tend to be too small to overpower the room. its as if in com audio people buy the sub than the speakers the other issue is with sub positioning, if you place sub's in a small area (like under a table), the bass is "amplified" by the table esp if you tuck it to one corner with a back speaker facing the wall. the bass will just bounce off the wall then off the table, then when it reaches you its muffled, like behind a door or something because frankly by position it IS behind a door. which comes to my second point QUOTE(thevool @ Feb 17 2015, 01:31 AM) I'm actually considering 2.0 speakers if i change speakesr... 2.0 doesnt lack in bass, it depends on who you ask, the setting its in and so on. i personally feel that subs actually hurt the sound quality because they tend to be a pain to control and overbloat the bassSpeaking of 2.0 speakers, do they really lack in the bass? I don't need boomy/deep bass. I just need clear bass with a good enough punch. Should I stick back to 2.1 , or try 2.0 ? Just worry on the bass department. if you want to try go to amplified, they have this Deion speaker rig thats hooked up to a DAC (i think was denon too), ask him to play songs, to me for the price you pay, those speakers sound delightful, full of bass and its just 2.0. (tho it still might not be enough for a basshead) subs are ridiculously hard to manage, wrong placement and it can send your whole room into muddy bassland, wrong room and it can send it into souless under performing box of crap. its the only speaker where a slight change in positioning can result to huge difference in sound, put it in the middle of the room without anything around it and the sub seems to have less bass. when it comes to accuracy and speakers the room and volume makes a huge difference, so if you play at relatively low volumes, with bad acoustics maybe add a sub to boost some low end. if you play loud and blast your music, subs can make shit muddy unless you like pure room shaking bass, it might just be paradise for you This post has been edited by +3kk!: Feb 17 2015, 10:20 AM |

new version soon if you're still available. If possible, do update frequently recommended products (for example: some speakers are no longer produced or not feasible/viable having better models), as well as having a "asking format" (eg: what is their budget, requirement, music genre they listen to etc) especially for the newer folks so it helps everyone be it folks providing recommendation and folks seeking answer. |
