Hmm, R2800..that's another Rm100 extra. I'll audition it and decide. Thanks for your input. biggrin.gif

BTW, you stated that the Bluetooth drops the quality of the sound, what about using RCA input to my PC? Bluetooth only for convenience connecting my phone sometimes.

rca will do things better especially with quality dac

just have the bass and treble knob on flat 0 if you want things flat.

no monitors will sound flat.
for work purposes an audio engineer will carry their own favorite monitors as their reference monitor because they recognize the signature. (same applies to headphones) wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif

Hi, i plan to get speakers mostly for gaming like CSGO, Far Cry 4, Witcher 3 etc etc and also watch movies. I am looking for a 2.0 speakers. Hopefully can get a good one.

Most important is sound quality. Bass good or not my ears can't differentiate it. As long feel nice is more than enough. I don't have any sound card though.

Budget RM600-750. A bit more should be fine.

Thank you. notworthy.gif

have a look at the recent posts we discussed about

Edifier Studio 7 or Studio 8 is a good good choice

if you can make space for a subwoofer you can go with Edifier S530D and use less space on table

Hi sifus need some recommendations. My budget less than rm500. I'm actually using it for my tv which is connected to android box. My parents use to watch pps and some movie volume is very soft even tv volume already max.

So is there any speaker with amplifier that can boost the sound? I also hope there's a controller that my old folks can use to change the volume from the couch. Besides that I don't need super bass or high quality or what. Just need loud sound and controller. Can't afford those sound bar for tv sad.gif

Hello Sifus,

I'm looking for a speaker that is used for Gaming and Music, it will be placed in my small bedroom.

Budget is around RM 100 - 200.

What would you recommend? Thanks!

Also, I dont know if 2.0 or 2.1 speaker is better for my case.

Hi sifus,

My current speaker (Altec Lansing ACS54, 4.1 setup) had spolit. I'm looking for a replacement setup with the bugdet between RM800-RM1000.

My mainly usage of the speakers will be gaming, watching movie and music. I also had a Creative X-fi Xtremegamer Fatality Pro sound card.

I also had search some reviews about below speakers. Would it be recommended?
1. Logitech Z906 (5.1)
2. Logitech Z506 (5.1)
3. Edifier 530D (2.1)
4. Edifier DA5100 (5.1)

Hope the sifus can enlighten me on this.
Thanks.

I'm not sure if Edifier R2600 is loud enough for you but if you can purchase the Edifier S530D(that cost RM759) then you can drive the speaker to insane volumes as it has extra hidden boost volumes for terrible inputs.

skip the Z506

I love the z906 features for easy setup but the bass is too boomy for me. And the trebles sparkles in an odd way which I wouldn't like.

I would go for the cheaper options like the DA5100 if you prefer 5.1

Edifier S530D is a better choice if you are not going for 5.1
an alternative to S530D is the R2800(studio 8) which eats table space but gives the most immersive sound in my opinion thumbup.gif

Bro, thanks for the feedback.
Actually I'm looking forward to 5.1 setup to fully utilize my sound card.

So comparing Logitech Z906 and Edifier DA5100, the major difference are:
1. Z906 is THX certified, does this certification makes the impact on the speakers?
2. Wattage wise Z906 is 500W, while DA5100 is 120W. Is higher wattage means better sound quality?
2. Edifier DA5100 is much cheaper

Still undecided whether Logitech or Edifier is a better choice. icon_question.gif

best is to test yourself

thx is just a certificate. the only impact is the price.

higher watt gives louder volume. but the da5100 is plenty loud

I'd go with da5100 anytime over plastic thx speakers sweat.gif

but then again it's your ears to decide. not mine thumbup.gif

actually thx is good.
906 is too weak to compare with any original thx select/ thx select2 certified "home use" speakers. not even close to cinema. so just ignore it
i would suggest u to buy s530d until u have allocate budget to proper 5.1 surround setup.
u cant go far using da5100 or 906 yet u lose sound quality

vs4621 is fashion speaker. sure it looks good. sound wise not so
biggest weakness is cone facing down and small subwoofer. using propriety cable which is difficult repair when broken

u can test with handphone or whatever player, placement is very important
