should u guys be afraid of reits in the coming year? the last scare saw reit px drop 15-40%... do u think the next int hike will see a similar trend? of cause the the last one was a scare, but the next one would be very real...

also anyone into business trust?

price drop.. buy some more.
coz my objective to purchase reits is for the dividends.
No intention of selling unless there is huge drop in returns.

lol.. i see... i was initially buying in for dividend... but end up making more $$$ trading it intra day or sometimes holding up to a month or 2... entered reits at its bottom sometime back in sept - nov 2013... made a lot from suntec n ascendas although yield was not that high.. then needed $$$ to pump into other stocks, commodity palm ones... so had to sell... after making $$$ from those commodity i went back into reits back in feb/mar.. also another bottom.. lol

the most recent ib reports do not have much great news about sgreits, except for a few selected ones in office and healthcare.
it is always possible some will lose up to 30% in price at some point, happened before!
still, as long as us treasury yields aren't spiking up non-stop, risks aren't that high.trading reits intraday is...?!!
but i can see the possibilities with the most liquid and relatively volatile ones - e.g suntec, capitalmall.
most people incl me buy for keeps; selling will mean liquidation for good, no going back to that counter.
but...good for u if you make more by trading.

business trusts... can u suggest a couple for me to look at? tq.



firstreit div ex'ed today. we'll see if it creeps back up to 1.24-1.25 soon enough...

i guess ppl are already immune to the int hike news... after the dips in dec13 n feb14.. i guess the market hv been pretty much sleeping.. huh? healthcare? that's business trust not reits right?

well, sometimes is the perception even b4 it happens...

no choice, look at the market... hardly move.. i left my job, only income is intraday... lol... did a lot of lippo recently.. 0.405 - 0.415 ... this movement whack 500k wait 1day - 1/2 weeks... enuf to pay rent n food... lol

err... did a few ascendasHT, but made mistake during mas incident, shorted expecting market to crash... but not only did it not crash it went up a little.. zzz, ascendasHT is good, another would be religare..

my bad... was referring to nursing homes like firstreit....

not great outlook... but why bleak?

price been 1.04-1.06 for many moons.

yesterday was ex-div, so dropped 2 cents to 1.03, quite normal.

7.2% yield, not bad!

anyway... just to clarify how this dividend works..

you get the dividend if you hold at what date;?

1) announcement date?
2) book closing date?
3) distribution date?

Once if they fill up all the vacant lot, then no more 1.04 story.. the price will be high then.
So, decision lies on how confident we are that the MANAGEMENT can fill up the vacant lots.
