Walao...

For $1000, the difference between 7.00% and 7.04% yield is only 40 cents per year !

40 cents per year makes so much difference to you ? Your life must be very stressful if you care about 40 cent per year difference...

i personally would prefer to look/stare in the average price of my holdings. biggrin.gif less headache and treat div yield like surprise bonus. rclxms.gif

keeps the excitement always.

What is your focus if I may ask ?

For Reits, isn't the purpose dividend yield and dividend yield ? With capital gain over long term the bonus ?

With the exception of that aunty who trade Sunreit for a good weekend meal.... biggrin.gif
*
my focus is purely on the compounding effect of dividend yields for my portfolio.

Aim .. so far no bad news yet..  I expect them to at least maintain DPU.. laugh.gif

yea the decline is expected. furthermore, the 3% is payment of cash instead of units to manager right? so technically drop of 1%+ is still okay... hmm.gif

Let's say that the price of a particular share is SGD 1.80.

I queue to buy this share at SGD 1.60. At the end of the day, I do not manage to buy the share at SGD 1.60. Does queueing to buy the share incur any brokerage fee?

In reverse situation, if I queue to sell the share at SGD 2.00 and no one is buying the share at the end of the day, does queueing to sell the share incur any brokerage fee?

Thanks for the confirmation. smile.gif
*
no fee nor cost to queueing for buy or sell. biggrin.gif

when buy and sell match, that's where the brokerage + stamp duty + etc fee incur. so don't worry!

Wahh,... bro is really advanced,... now comparing between props and SG REITs,... I did this comparison 10 years ago... and I preferred SG REITs. Easier to dispose, and will get currency appreciation too.

And 'can get SG investor friends and girl-friends too',.... haha,...

But on the serious side,... I'm still keeping my commercial properties, have not disposed, these props will give me stability of income,...
*
i previously did a comparison on buying property in KL or M/S Reits instead.

Property

Pro: High appreciation

Con: Who to sell later? tenant problem, cukai pintu, cukai tanah, insurance premium etc...

M/S Reit

Pro: Liquidity and consistent dividend (as in money keep coming not the up and down)

Con: hmm.gif hmm.gif loss making in terms of share prices?

p/s: those who owns property don't shoot me oh. icon_question.gif

Unless one is investing in reit with leverage, if not, you can't really compare between them.

Reit also can have high appreciation if one bought at right time, typically buying reit at distressed time.
Now probably can't have too much appreciation, as most reit are fairly/fully valued across.

The discount of reit price was way huge than property during market panic time specifically during 2008.

One is apple, one is orange.
It depends on individual preference.
If both also like, then I don't see why not.
*
yes i agree on the fact that it's actually comparing apple and orange as both serves different function.

so an interesting question for all members here. biggrin.gif

if a friend were to ask if you own a property but you don't own any property, only reits. does it consider/technically that you own a property and comparable with a person who owns a property?

long story short

A owns a residential property = property owner

B owns MY reits = property owner? hmm.gif or the correct term should be labelled as a shareholder instead?

Shareholder is more a right term.

You can label it as pseudo-property owner if you wish.  laugh.gif
*
whichever term that makes you sound more bangga. biggrin.gif

reason asking was recently met a reit investor who doesn't own an property, hence the question are you a property owner or just a shareholder? which term sounds more... proud in the ears of commoner? hmm.gif

Yes, it is difficult to find a counter which yields >8% with great potentials...
Maybe can consider AIMS, Fraser L&I and Manulife... these are the few counters that I have currently and probably I will top up after getting the proceed from Croesus... bangwall.gif
*
yes if the privatisation goes thru... aims and frasers L&I are definitely on the radar...

vote no. if you own the shares via CDS, u will get a letter and attend the EGM with it.

if you own shares via nominee, best to nominate the remisier to attend and vote on your behalf.
