Barclays forecasts the rupiah to reach 13,250 per US dollar by year end, a level that was last seen in August 1998. an xtra just for u about bursa... QUOTE Malaysia spending trackers flash „reality check‟ growth warning (Bloomberg) With the nation’s key oil exports falling and budget cuts coming, Malaysia still had consumer spending as a prop for growth late last year. That pillar may be weakening, escalating the risks for a middleincome economy that expanded an average 5.8% in the past half decade. Measures of manufacturing wages and credit-card spending are the weakest since at least the global financial crisis, according to inflation-adjusted data compiled by Bloomberg. QUOTE(davidcch07 @ Feb 23 2015, 04:06 PM) won't go below 3.70 wor... we'll see...QUOTE At that level, the ringgit was at a five-year low against the greenback. CIMB Research said the ringgit was likely to hold above 3.70 against the US dollar. And unlike during the 1990’s financial crisis, Malaysia’s economy continues to be resilient, despite falling oil prices and a surge of foreign outflow. Bank Negara will release its mid-monthly foreign exchange reserves report later this week, which would probably show another decline. But with more than US$100bil in foreign exchange stockpile, the central bank has the firepower to keep currency speculators at bay. http://www.thestar.com.my/Business/Busines...ggit/?style=biz |
