Ya i also remember MIKEL do some long range pass in his early days and even some surging run with his OK dribbling, he also used to play as AMC with NIGERIA. But hopping him to provide assist like ALONSO is just too much to ask, there is not much DM that can pass like ALONSO anyway. His game is not about assist or goal, as long he did those press, cover, intercept then is fine. The only way for him to get goal will be improve his long shot, ESSIEN  has a few thunderbolt but i cant really remember MAKELELE scoring either.

Torres is doing okay atm but he keeps losing posession in the final 3rd. The way i see it our team is doing good already with 3 attacking midfielder even got enough cover in moses n marin. Ramires n mikel is doing great job as 2 anchorman. Defense have been superb as well. The only area not quite complete is the cf role. Torres miss too many chances n keep losing ball. Cant finish off a counter attack move also due to his pace n speed has deterioriate. Getting falcao would b final jigsaw in the puzle.

Chelsea wary of 'massive prices'

A source has told ESPN that Chelsea are unlikely to replicate the extravagant money spent on Fernando Torres amid ongoing talk of a swoop for Atletico Madrid forward Radamel Falcao.

Chelsea spent £50 million on Torres to bring him to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool in January 2011, while this summer they were again active in the transfer market, landing the likes of Eden Hazard for £32 million.

The Blues have been strongly linked with an interest in Falcao, with a £48 million asking price mooted, but the Champions League holders are conscious of UEFA's Financial Fair play rules.

Regarding the Torres deal, a source told ESPN: "Chelsea will never pay such massive prices for a player again."

Manchester City have also been mentioned as suitors for Falcao, who has scored eight La Liga goals this season, but it appears the club have other targets ahead of the January transfer window.

The ESPN source added: "Paris St Germain don't want him (Falcao), and (City boss Roberto) Mancini wants (Stevan) Jovetic."

I wonder why is falcao deemed too old. 26 years old is just nice. Can be considered as the beginning of the peak age for strikers.

Why say so? Currently chelsea is stuck only with a torres which is half of what he was in liverpool. I dont see why getting falcao is not a good investment. He is currently the most talked about striker in the world of football and i see him as a direct drogba replacement

Well, either way should not be a problem for chelsea, they already looked tip top. Only the front looked weak and thin with torres and sturridge. I wouldnt complain if falcao were to come. Lukaku coming back and matteo should try to retain him too.
