Makelele is magnificent player. He's the reason why our 433 works so well under him, as Mourinho said:

QUOTE
‘Look, if I have a triangle in midfield – Claude Makelele behind and two others just in front – I will always have an advantage against a pure 4-4-2 where the central midfielders are side by side. That’s because I will always have an extra man. It starts with Makelele, who is between the lines. If nobody comes to him he can see the whole pitch and has time. If he gets closed down it means one of the two other central midfielders is open. If they are closed down and the other team’s wingers come inside to help, it means there is space now for us on the flank, either for our own wingers or for our full-backs. There is nothing a pure 4-4-2 can do to stop things’.

More about Makelele role here http://www.uefa.com/trainingground/coaches...lay=true#latest

I don't think Ramires is strong enough to play in this role, Ramires said because he is weak in physical, so he don't use man marking to tackle or defend, instead, he uses his agility to intercepts passes. In my opinion, Ramires best position would be in the midfield of 433, but as a CM,not DM.

i cringe of ur line up as the midfield area is filled with players that know nuts about defending except sub par romeu....

I don't mind at all if we are able to get a winning result of 6-3 / 8-5 / 7-4 all the time... will be hugely entertaining matches n mancini will say 'chelsea playing basketball' lol rclxms.gif

God, thanks for sharing MK4 vid.

He truly is a great DM, greatest DM in my eyes man.

So passionate, small2 body like that but owning the field like a boss.

How I wish Mikel to be like him someday...

btw, watching makelele's video makes me shiver. tirelessly run here and there to close in.
we really need a good DM.

lets say if we're in the january market. who would you pick? first 11 type of player, and to give competition to mikel

ROMAN IZ ANGRY!

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich addressed his players yesterday after they allowed Champions League opponents Juventus to draw 2-2 on Wednesday night.
The Daily Mail says Abramovich arrived unannounced at Cobham in the morning.

He spoke with players, coaches and manager Roberto Di Matteo on the training field to ask why the European champions could not hold on to a lead against the Italians on Wednesday after Oscar had scored twice in the first half.

Overall I think we lacked commitment for the total duration of 90 mins, vs juve. Our goals were down to individual brilliance from Oscar, nothing else. I’m quite annoyed with the lack of pressing from us, especially after watching real and city go head to head, with both teams pressuring each other like crazy in both halves of the pitch. When we tried to close down juve’s players I feel we did it somewhat half heartedly, oft-times it was them who managed to pressure us into an aimless clearance from our back four and cech. Admittedly, it doesn’t take much effort for them to do so.

Mikel was very poor with his distribution and that final giveaway was punished instantly by juve. Lampsy made a carbon copy mistake closer to goal earlier, but wasn’t capitalized on by marchisio. However I think terry was too hasty in trying to play the offside trap and our midfield was also in dreamland prior to the killer pass for their striker. Ashley did well, but iva couldn’t support that right flank. I think rami strayed more to the middle this time, but again when he’s out on the right he looks lost. Vidal’s goal shouldn’t have went in, he was hobbling for God’s sake. This highlights the lack of commitment I mentioned earlier.

RDM didn’t help our cause by bringing in Bertrand at the 70th minute mark. Made no sense to me at all that one, trying to defend for 20 mins against the best side in serie A. Last but not least I was disappointed with nando. Although there wasn’t much service, I wasn’t impressed with how he didn’t really hassle their defenders and just be a general nuisance in their penalty box. He wasn’t really fighting for the ball, compared to late last season when he closed down opposition players into hurried clearances / mistakes, etc. Could use some work on his positioning as well, although he was open when mata got through and shot into the side netting. Clearly needs to show more aggressiveness in his game. If studge was fit, I’m pretty sure he would’ve been given a go.

i agree with u Kerplunk...its like there are no sign of urgency within the team members..is it because of RDM isolated Malouda to youth team..i mean there is something going on in the backroom..and again i would love to see our midfield supply more ball to Torres and RDM also need to workout on Torres positioning during training..both need to be improved..plus the defenders..haiz..i can get a heart attack each time i watched chelsea play..huhu

TBH RDM is not an experience manager. only 163 match.

Anyway, got to agree with you every1 is playing at a slow pace except the new boys and the mata.
Mikel look to relax as if there were no contender in his DM position. hope RDM use Romeu instead of warm the bench.
Torres is going to look bad on him as his effort on the field is getting terrible.

Anyway hope to see Hazard-Oscar-Mata play together. laugh.gif
