lol, while waiting for my M50W sub repair, yesterday I just tested M50W tweeters with Lepai 2020A amp, I am surprisingly they sound good with treble max and 2 o'clock bass, soundstage/bass not big but enough for a small room, kinda mini HiFi set.
*
Careful when you run it separate from the subwoofer.

With regards to your subwoofer, it would appear that a few units which we repaired failed because the amplifier has completely failed for some reasons. We have to replace the whole amplifier. Please bear with us, the new shipment has not arrived.

QUOTE(dennisyeoh @ Jul 17 2013, 11:26 PM)
although i love the sound but seriously the QC is like near to none; my d1080iv have this rattling problem i sent to rma after changing the whole tweeter the problem is still there i don know what to do anymore, i guess you get what you pay for huh
*
We will request to change the whole speaker for you.

Hivi is also replacing the whole x4 for another customer. We have some hiccups with order volume and RMA so we need time to figure out an equilibrium. For Hivi this is quite tough but for other brands that we have they are easy to manage. Mostly we just replace the whole thing. The reason is as follow:

There are a ton of models and different models may have different problems that we are not aware of. Hivi only comes with repair warranty and exchange is only when repair cannot be made.

If anybody has any problems with their product, and we don't care what it is, just bring it back to us as long as you bought it from an authorized retailer. Don't even bother bringing it back to the dealer. They can't fix your problem, and sometimes they don't even tell us there is Rma waiting until a week later.

Currently we have noted the following problems

M50W - Some amps will fail prematurely. Sudden death is the most common. We will replace the fuse and if it cannot be fixed we will replace the whole amp

D1080-IV - odd rattling. Don't know what is the cause, we will request for full replacement.

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Jul 15 2013, 01:13 PM)
Request returns and pay 20% restocking fee. Then top up for X5 lor.
*
Sorry we cannot do that. If the speaker was new we could but the other speaker has been used regardless of how many days. Since one speaker will be replaced with a new one, we can only allow 50% full credit for an upgrade but user will have an extra x4 playing mono...maybe can use as center speaker

We are expecting HiVi to send out our cargo next week.

New in this shipment:

HiVi X5
HiVi GT1000

@CyntrixTech

I audited the x5 in your showroom and now I am also considering the x6. so now I am seeking some advice from u laugh.gif
my room size is 7m x 4m, can I know will x5 underpowered for my room size ?
just to confirm x6 is RM4199? rclxub.gif
*
X6 is RM 5299.

QUOTE(arslow @ Sep 3 2013, 10:20 PM)
Maybe you can add the gt1000 price on the first page? Might know someone who might be interested on it biggrin.gif
*
Pricing has not been set. Costing not done yet...busy bee

Anybody with RM 2k and is really looking for the best experience for a "desktop" speaker, this is it. It's very hard to explain the sensation of listening to these speakers. There are a ton of brands and speakers out there, but somehow the X4 just disappears and has the perfect size for a desktop/nearfield speaker.

Come back 1-2 months later to audition the X5, we will burn it in everyday for over a month

Got X sub? Even we don't know lol. But it's a given, excellent system missing a sub to complete the crave for bass.

Ronnie, get a tube dac for classical music. High detail dac with a high detail speaker can make it sound too aggressive and analytical.

I am quite keen on finding out more about this speakers as well and unfortunately heavy arms does not display or have a demo unit.

We will send the demo there sometime next week. They should update Facebook once arrived.

I'm using Lavry DA11. Don't want to bother with anything else. But if you haven't heard "enough" then it's a fun journey ahead of you.

Not sure, have not really tested it.

Yo! They are very different. X3 doesn't sound like the MK2. It doesn't deliver as much bass. However it is significantly smaller than the MK2 and would free up a lot of desk space.

Thanks, do you have a how showroom where I can test them both? brows.gif

Also, in the mid range department, which is better? I'm looking for balanced sound signature, warm is OK, as I'll be using for music smile.gif
*
We are revamping our new office to have a retail show room of all the audio products that we carry. Until then, we would ask that you visit our partner Heavy Arm at Subang to audition. Now we are going to introduce a new review campaign. If you want to take home to test the speaker, we can arrange for that.

Based on your brief description, you are probably looking at the D1080-IV or M200MK2. One at RM 500+ one at RM 800+. The D1080-IV uses MK3's driver and has a flare port. It delivers a lot more bass than anything else within the price range. But it has upfront mids and more direct in your face sound signature. The MK2 is more laid back. D1080 may be warmer than the MK2

Thanks. Is the M200 Mk 2 suitable for a nearfield/desktop/computer environment? I mean I'll put it on my computer table and I hope my table doesn't shake due to the bass lol. My table width is 31 inches hmm.gif
*
MK2 is a nearfield speaker. So is the X3, and X4. You may also find info below useful to you.

I want to ask if m200 mk2 suitable for long range listening.  Like you put it in the living room. Around 2 3 m from the speaker.

Is there price list for all hivi swans speaker?
*
Depending on the living room size and how loud you play your music, you may need the mk3. The complaint people had with the mk2 is that they bought the speaker and used it in the living room, they didn't get the desired output. That's how the mk3 was born. The mk3 has double the output of the mk2.

Below you may find review from 6moon on the mk3
http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/swans2/1.html

We always encourage customers to get the mk3 for living room and mk2 for desk use. At the stock crossover settings you will find the mk3 having way too much bass. You also can't turn the volume up beyond maybe 20%. But if you are ok with playing with the crossover, the mk3 can be used on the desk as well.

Just got the Mark 2 biggrin.gif It's for my small room.

Any advise on positioning? Do I have to leave like 1 feet gap behind to the wall?

Also, do I need speaker stands for this ? As now, I just place the speakers on a stool and on top of some books to increase the height hmm.gif
*
You may want to leave it somewhere to burn in for a month before listening to it. The speaker should be tall enough as is to position the tweeter at ear level. Unless you are really tall or have very good sitting posture!

If you find the speaker boomy at default crossover you can move it close to you, away from the wall.

2015 versions do not have any problems thus far. This is one of the reasons why we had a blackout period in 2014.

Yes it does. But it looks so much nicer without it. RM 599. Tentative price increase.
