I registered for digi discover day on july. the cs girl said, no contract and can terminate anytime. but need to pay RM50 upfront which will be use to deduct my bill EVERY MONTHS.

so what can you understand from that? if my bill is RM30 per month than it will deduct it for 1+ months. RM30 for first month and RM20 for second month. right?

WRONG!

your RM50 will be use to deduct your bill over 5 months. on your first bill, you will be charge for OTHER CREDIT AND CHARGES for RM47. which RM10 is for stamp duty and maybe another RM34 top be carry over for the next 5 months.

first, this is postpaid not prepaid, they can collect deposit, but not advance payment like prepaid. as i assume my advance payment will be used within 2 months, I really don't mind at that time.

so they not only collect advance payment for nothing, but they use it as leverage to make you stay with them for 6 months.

beware.

yes. 1 month is fine. even 2 months i fine because that is what they make me understand during registration. not 6 months in advanced.

and after detail studies, it might be up to 13 months. (the deduct RM3 every month from RM40). so 13 months contract.

Added on September 8, 2012, 6:17 pmmy full report:

QUOTE
I registered for Digi Discover Day on 20th July 2012. Before registration, I asked if this line has no contract and the customer service said, no contract and can terminate anytime. I need to pay RM50 upfront which will be used to deduct my bill every months. If my bill is RM30 per month than it will deduct RM30 for first month and RM20 for second month.

My bill is supposed to be RM38.00 per month. With auto billing by credit card (which I opted in), I will get discount for RM5 for every months up to 12 months. On top of that I will also got discount for RM3 for 6 months (more on this RM3 discount later).
This is all verbal, not writing.
When I got my first bill, I was charge for:
RM23.95 for usage (pro rate)
RM47.00 for Other Credit & Charges (Contract)

When I called Digi Customer Service, the person said the RM47.00 is RM10.00 for stamp duty and the rest is "advanced charges" that Digi will deduct from my advanced payment over the course of 6 months. This make it like I have entered a contract for 6 months with them.

I believe I has been cheated by Digi becuase:
1. They charge me advance payment for RM50. At the time of registration this seem reasonable because I was made to believe since my charges will be RM30 per month then it will be used up witihin the second month. I know this maybe because I don't understand the contract, but it's their responsibility to make me understand and not to mislead me. Beside the customer service girl already said no contract and can be terminated at any time.

2. The RM3 discount per month might be the reason for the 6 months hidden contract. They failed to let me know this upfront.

3. They "advance charged" me for RM37 (after deduct RM10 for stamp duty). Is this allowed? As this is postpaid not prepaid, maybe they can collect deposit, but not advanced payment like prepaid. And certainly NO to advanced charges to be used as leverage to make me stay with them for 6 months.

What I would like as solution is:
1. Clarify and itemized the RM47.00 Other Credit & Charges
2. Clarify about the RM3 discount that I supposed to get every months for 6 months. From what little I can understand form their complicated billing system, it seem they deduct RM3 from RM40 (the RM47 minus RM10 stamp duty) which seem that my "contract" might be up to 13 months.
3. Use up my advanced payment immediately instead of monthly for 6 months.

Thank you.

i can terminate now, but they already charge my credit card for that mystery RM37 since i opt for auto payment. as i said, it's "hidden contract". terminate and might lost RM37.

no, i didn't read anything. i just asked if i can terminate at any time and she said can because the line has no contract. she said the RM50 will be use to pay my bill. she didn't say it will be use to pay for the next 6 or 12 or 13 months. this all seem to be correct, the RM50 was used to pay my bill. it's all used up in the first bill because my first bill is more than RM50 after the mysterious RM37 charge.

the issue are:
1. i was told there is no contract and can terminate anytime. that is the keyword. she should tell me i will lost my advance payment if i terminate within 6/12/13 months. she failed to mention that. i wasn't told about the RM10/month x 5 months deal.
2. i was charged unexplained RM37 in first bill

1st bill suppose to be pro-rated monthly subscription (RM23.95 in your case) + RM50 upfront payment = RM73.95
Was your first bill higher than RM73.95?? I bet NO.

Why RM37??
RM50 (upfront payment) - RM10 (upfront payment refund for first month) - RM3 (additional discount) = RM37.

Digi is not even charging you full RM50 upfront payment.
