I bought DBE for M&A newsflow, but too slow to let go when that didn't works out and became accidental long term investor.  tongue.gif
QL is the best as always. If it's QL that I'm holding, I no need to monitor so tight already since no need sell button (price also won't move much in short term anyway since valuation now is already quite high).

I've 50% in reits at the moment. So ya, only small part reserve for high risk dish, maybe less than 5%.  biggrin.gif

icon_rolleyes.gif whatever it is as long you make money, its good enough smile.gif
i curse TM because still cannot reach the target i want.

from 2011-2012 price increase around 80% (2.5x-4.4x). this year 2012 until now around 40% only (4.4x-6.3x).

i thought with Unifi blooming steadily, it's share price can perform better than last year. but mana tau doh.gif

anyhow, a profit is profit. better than loss  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
TM was a curse stock prior introduction of Unifi, after that company management changes and manage to turnover.
Even Digi unable to provide such return, u should be contented icon_rolleyes.gif

Democrats focus on revival of manufacturing sector, while Republican focus on O&G and service industry. There is no certain right or wrong tongue.gif

in fact, digi profit/duration ratio is better compare to TM. this year digi price soar 54% while TM around 45%.

i actually wanted to sell my TM and buy up digi when it was RM4 back somewhere in july 2012. but then, i figure out that Unifi has a better long term prospect compared to digi products as people can easily change telcos. plus, my TM fund is my emergency fund so i have to play that a lil safer.  biggrin.gif
*
I'm very impressive of your pick of TM, in fact one of my relative bought TM decades ago, this recent years only manage to see good profit from TM and Axiata.

Why didn't switch partially of TM to Digi, treat Digi as profit and let it run and work for u

Coca Cola i kind of worry for its VERY LONG TERM business since people nowadays are getting more into less sugar food, and diet coke taste like medicine!  laugh.gif
I just think the risk is there for Coke, since it's a "super recipe" and so if this sugar concern really getting much more attention in future, how can it transform its business to maintain profitable?
For the same reason, I don't buy tobacco stocks. Since I always think its business can only get smaller each year. Although now still ok, but we are seeing increasing number of non-smoking young people(this is the important part). The trend is growing. However, I think there is nothing iconic on MacD. Only 1 thing, it's fast food. And fast food can also be healthy food. Nobody care about must get a BigMac in MacD, people just buy whatever they provide. So the flexibility is there for MacD.  hmm.gif

Johnson & Johnson business I like very much. Is this company good as long term profitability? It's great to know it also 25 years dividend growing story! I'm gonna start monitoring MacD and JJ now.  notworthy.gif

Coca-Cola does has its own distribution network, so when they launch a new product, not much cost need to be incurred.

China Coca-Cola still under Robert Kuok control if i'm not mistaken, Malaysia Coca-Cola is under US one, last time used to be under controlled by F&N

QUOTE(ham_revilo @ Oct 6 2012, 11:59 PM)
i small timer only. dont have so much TM on hand to diversify sweat.gif but good idea though. i never thought of that thumbup.gif

in fact, all big telco in malaysia doing well. Axiata, Maxis, Digi, TM. hopefully one day, Yes, Umobile and P1 will be a big player and compete with them smile.gif
*
Maxis - Slowly losing it's market share to Digi and Celcom, from what i'm observe, service still up to par but charges is slightly higher.
Digi - Focusing much on data revenue, started the price war and i'm afraid the data revenue might not have strong growth. Still a better pick compare to maxis, it's cost management is the best among all.
Axiata - Still able to show a good financial result despite loss in foreign exchange, starting to enhance it's branding by marketing and outlook of outlets. Potential growth in Indonesia, especially in data revenue.

UMobile - Able to focus on Niche market and focusing on city area.
Yes - A curse for YTL Power shareholder laugh.gif in term of wireless broadband, can consider in top 4, wide coverage and service is up to par.
P1 - Can forget this, too many negative point tongue.gif

So from the 3, which one do u think it is a huge potential of become a big player? hmm.gif I think u should have know the answer by now laugh.gif

I think Coke more sour and Pepsi more sweet.
I prefer Coke, I think its taste is more "dynamic", more "imaginative".  biggrin.gif
In Malaysia fast food restaurants, if you don't say anything, they will give you Coke.  laugh.gif

Is it? Man! Robert Kuok has so many great businesses in hands. Too bad not much reflected in PPB's earnings. Well, I bet it's not under PPB's umbrella?  hmm.gif
*
Is under Kerry group, not under PPB or wilmar. That Kerry group listed on HK and majority of the business focus on HK property and China market
