Ya, never know how long this process can be. Like you said, "not tested before".
Now the government tries to switch their economic focus slowly from the extreme of heavy export to internal demand. This is not easy as well, but the increase on salary does show their success on first step. Lets wait and see if their following steps can work successfully or not.  laugh.gif
*
From low income to mid income is easy, bring in FDI, cheap export etc.
But from mid-income to high income, not every country can, and is more difficult task.

its a globalize world now. you only need one of the powerhouse kena, they rest will be affected one way or another.

imo, china have been booming so fast that a slight pullback will cause a small recession. or perhaps a soft or hard landing.

anyhow, its just my cheap cent smile.gif
*
Personally view, globalisation is not something as good as many text book said.

A person/country that work hard, has prudent financial management, save hard, did everything like text book said to be a good financial management person/country,
one still can be punished by others greediness behaviour that turn bad, in the form of global recession, inflation through massive money printing.

QUOTE(mopster @ Sep 24 2012, 03:47 PM)
there are many reasons..
~M'sia & Indo'sia stock pile at high..
~EU sets policy on biofuel consumption
~M'sia is losing out to Indo'sia's cheaper export tax of palm oil (or refined palm oil, cannot remember)
~Early crop harvest in the US
~Less demand from India & China...

with the 5 reasons above.. CPO price is depressed.. personally, i see this as an opportunity to buy cheap plantation counters...
now is just scanning time.. tongue.gif perhaps, Dec/Jan is the right time to buy (imho)... hmm.gif

Added on
what i cannot understand is the spread between Soybean oil and CPO is getting wider... hmm.gif

hi-fi bro~~
i'm think Q3 and Q4 result will be quite bad for planters.. sticking to my timing or Dec/Jan.. partly because of GE, US GE, Fiscal Cliff, all come in 1 pot... laugh.gif

i think article explains how Mario's Unlimited Bond buying can be "sterilized"
finally got an answer after reading for so long..

http://www.forbes.com/sites/louiswoodhill/...already-failed/

this article points out a few difference between US and EU bond buying program..
*
The plantation stock is not dropping as much, I always said with current CPO price and current earning mostly reported, plantation stock should go down further from current level. They are not cheap at current price to earning.

Joking only.

Actually I am more fear about the level of budget deficit as people expected many goodies as many perceived it is pre-election budget, GST is expected won't be implement next year, I don't know how a balance budget can be achieved.
Continuous at high budget deficit level can be a risk to the economy.

QUOTE(Dackson @ Sep 28 2012, 11:03 PM)
A total of RM500 million will be spent by PR1MA to build 80,000 houses in major locations nationwide with the selling price ranging between RM100,000 and RM400,000 per unit. Among the locations are Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Johor Bahru, Seremban and Kuantan

it's enough to build 80,000 house with 500m ??
*
Still scratching head how to build 80,000 house with 500m?
Even 5 billion also may not enough.

*
Even exclude land cost, Rm 500 mil/80k = Rm 6250 can build a unit house (even for super dense flat)?

Anyway, 1 cent saved is 1 cent earned...
*
Ya, 1 cents earn but a possible 10 cents loss in term of inflation. vmad.gif (I expected coffee and teh out there may up 10 cents soon).

Sugar out there already up today from grocery shop, while coffee shop and restaurant don't know when only. Couple with min wages, inflation of foods globally, I fear for inflation.

problem is.. current price is for December delivery...
meaning February earnings report will be horrible... so investors will overlook that and take the 6months drop in earnings as a temporary hiccup ?  hmm.gif
personally i'm still holding and no intention to sell.. only buy tongue.gif
but everyone else think the same as me ? hahah  hmm.gif

*
Last time, I also heard similar story on BDI, temporarily hiccup due to crisis/recession, but after 4 years global financial crisis has passed, the hiccup still not stop yet. laugh.gif

Oh just read another "temporary" on QE. tongue.gif
http://www.cnbc.com/id/49242022
QUOTE
That’s not what’s happening, and that will not happen,” Bernanke said. “We are acquiring Treasury securities on the open market and only on a temporary basis, with the goal of supporting the economic recovery through lower interest rates.

Added on October 2, 2012, 3:48 pmI wonder the temporary definition is
6 months?
1 year?
3 years?
5 years?

oppss I forgot when the QE started, already how long in the Fed balance sheet?
