Yay Wisdom. He's good so far. Only one lapse of concentration when he waited for the ball when the play already resumed lol

BR has got to sort out the defence. Seriously. Should change the mentality to "if you don't concede, you won't lose"

What about Assaidi? I saw many comments from fans praising him in the main Liverpool website. Was he outstanding?

The first goal was just pure luck, any other day it would have been just another blind cross. Sometimes I wish he look up before delivering those crosses, it's a shame he doesn't because he's one of our better crossers. I missed the first 10 minutes, but for most of the match he was predictable, slow and conceded a lot of possession.

No doubt Assaidi was shaky but at least he showed courage to take on defenders and vary his play. It's what you expect from a winger's debut but even so it's more than what Downing offered last night, imho.
"Ahh, the 2 defenders are close to each other... I see an opportunity for an own goal!" *Whacks*
*
Absolutely right on about Downing. He was his usual self. So predictable. But at least when he was switched to the left he helped out Enrique. Left back perhaps? Lol

Assaidi was decent. Has some touch of flair about him. Got some nifty touches and turns. A little bit of Suarez in him. With game time hopefully he'll get better.

Disappointed not to see what Yesil can do but then again, the scoreline probably prevented BR to make that happen. Shelvey impressed me again. And Wisdom and Suso was not bad too. Both showed plenty of composure when on the ball. Still, main problem is to cut out the defensive mistakes. 2 out of the 3 goals could have easily been prevented.

wat toking u? shelvey tackle is 1 footed.

IMO, be it red or yellow, both should get a card.

I agree with you. Or like the soccernet columnist said, leave the game going. It was a derby game after all. No consistency at all by the ref today. RVP's tackle was just as bad. And we should have gotten a penalty. Totally robbed today. Let's hope the lads pick themselves up for WBA this Wednesday.

QUOTE(Yluxion @ Sep 24 2012, 12:38 PM)
I can't think of anyone that serves the DM role better than Allen atm, not until Lucas is fit to play again. Sahin is more of a luxurious type of creative midfielder, he might be chasing/closing down players and making interceptions but I bet you won't see him storming back to provides cover for defensive holes or getting in tackles to win us the ball.

While Gerrard is fine now since employed in a deeper role. He seems to be more patient by not forcing through passes, trust his mates more and let everyone works the game plan. Of which reap us the benefits, we've been better with our passing since then.
*
I agree. I don't think it's advisable to play Sahin in Lucas' role. Not sure who will play in Shelvey's role in the next league game, though. Will BR start Hendo/Sahin alongside Allen and push Gerrard further up or will he continue Gerrard+Allen in the deeper role with Sahin further upfront?
