QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Sep 15 2012, 04:42 PM) i notice the screen is much smoother when flipping between pages. touchwiz has too many redraws some of the benefits of nova prime launcher pros: 1. performance 2. modability too many to go into 3. better app folder management 4. more gesture controls 5. you can add a touch screen button to replace the physical one. I'm loving it 6. can also use the jelly bean theme. same reason as point item number 5. 7. rather than use gmail widgets, nova prime has a plugin called tesla unread which allows me to do the same thing but more efficiently but using the default gmail icon widget. So the gmail widget now has the number of unread emails appended to the bottom right of the icon. 8. can easily import my widget layout from touchwiz to nova prime. 9. eacy to backup widget layout and settings for nova prime. 10. has a feature to check for updates for nova prime and perform the update cons: 1. the touchwiz clock weather widget is gone 2. there doesn't seem to be an option in nova prime to change the lock screen wallpaper :/ to do that i think still need to do via samsung s3 settings if i am not mistaken. When i tried to freeze touchwiz, it worked for a while, but later the app menu buttons were gone. so i don't think it's recommended to freeze touchwiz from what i've seen this one is a really big selling point for me This post has been edited by YouDontKnowMyName: Sep 15 2012, 04:47 PM |

anyone else have widget sizing problem with nova launcher?
seems like the Assistive Light widget and the Alarm Clock widget (stock widgets) are sized weirdly on nova launcher AND apex launcher. I tried changing the settings but it's still the same |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Sep 15 2012, 11:22 PM) Flip down hard for texting if the flip cover cannot open until touch the back cover. If flip up can easily texting but quite rare to find a good one. So in the end..Gooo naked...FTW..!!! no matter how i still prefer to use snap-on back casing only.the only time i use flip-case is when i'm going out with friends to arcade or something where my phone might bump into stuff in my pocket |

QUOTE(AskarPerang @ Sep 16 2012, 01:57 PM) 16GB class4 SD card on my cousin's S2 causes the phone to lag like crazy when open music player.his songs are stored in his microSD. compared to mine, i use 32GB class10, no lag at all and music player instantaneously open highly recommend getting class10. unless if you're on a budget, then class4 should be alright if you don't mind the occasional slowness |

Although i do think overall the S3 was the winner in this round, Apple still managed to set the new standards for somethings. 1. Thunderbolt 2. 3 microphones ..... ...thats about it i'm not denying thunderbolt is the future, but i think wigig would have been much more useful because there are wigig routers out there. People tend to prefer wireless streaming/transfer of data compared to using a cable. |

QUOTE(vostroxe @ Sep 17 2012, 02:02 AM) i just bought sgs3 last week. and im new to android. is anything i can do to lower the ram usage. i constantly kill tasks and clear ram, but no matter how, it will rise again some times. i don't bother killing tasks and clearing RAM.i have never done it before, my phone still runs smoothly until today. there are lots of myths about task killing and RAM clearing, but i personally believe that android manages RAM usage and tasks very well on it's own (the only thing i clear is my multitasking tasks. i don't kill tasks using task manager or clear RAM) This post has been edited by YouDontKnowMyName: Sep 17 2012, 02:29 AM |

i just read another galaxy S3 vs iphone 5 comparison.
the galaxy S3 vs iphone 5 specs comparison has to stop. It's just too ridiculous to compare 2 totally different phones that have their own good points and bad points I personally love my galaxy S3, but I don't think iphone is a bad phone. sometimes i feel android fanboys are turning into apple fanboys too in a way |

i doubt the rumour is true.
samsung would probably follow it's regular release cycle by releasing it in their own private event |

QUOTE(lucifah @ Sep 17 2012, 10:04 PM) i'm quite worried about the batt in my s3 in my experience, it's because of weather widget set to update interval of 1 hour. it will keep trying to update even though no wifi/3G available or even when device is idlewhen it's idling, at certain time, it eats up the batt quite fast no background apps running, no 3g, no gps, just wifi anything wrong that i did? |

Hello fellow sifus, i need some help here.
So i've installed Apex Launcher to try it out. I realised that the widgets that I add on apex launcher look weird and misaligned. Here's an example. This is a picture of the widgets alignment with STOCK LAUNCHER. They look perfectly fine and aligned. ![]() And here is a picture of the widgets alignment with Apex LAUNCHER. They look weird (too small / misaligned) ![]() I was wondering, How do I fix the spacing / alignment of the widgets to make it aligned just like on the stock launcher? Also, i'm using the free version of apex launcher. Any help is appreciated. THANK YOU! This post has been edited by YouDontKnowMyName: Sep 18 2012, 09:55 PM |
