1100 where got high end. It is just entry lvl lor... You can ask the Canon kaki in other section tongue.gif
Agree, i prefer the S3 burst mode, even my a77 with 12 fps no match with S3. S3 is using local buffer to store 20 fps while a77 SLT with higher resolution and yet small local buffer...

aiyoyoyo.. so much mistakes in your comment..

1100D is fallen's new camera.. alexlimco is using high end ones la.. u tot he noob meh..  rolleyes.gif

and FYI, S3 cannot do 20fps laa... it's doing around 3.3fps = 10 frames in 3 secs..

so for 20 frames, will take about 6 seconds.. don't believe? get a timer and try yourself..
*
Opps, my mistake. Is 3.3 fps indeed. Normally i will have normal shooting with sammy.

Heavy shooting, i will bring my giant DSLR. smile.gif

They should improve the noise lvl, maybe a firmware to filter that...

Company that does great job in this area is Nikon. Hope Samsung hire nikon expert to tune the camera

noise is very high when ISO is >800... this is bcz.. most of the phones wont go higher than ISO 800. S3 has a max ISO of 1600 in Auto settings.. when things get really dark, then it will pump the ISO above 800 and that's where the noise comes out.

in Auto settings, the maximum shutter speed is only 1/17 to avoid handshake i guess. Hence, if u wanna take a less noise low light camera, u can either try HDR, or u can use night mode.

in night mode, max ISO is 800 while the max shutter speed is 0.5sec.. which is 3 stops of light in advantage at the same ISO. 3 stops of lights means a lot of difference. but be careful of handshake.

Hey guys, I just had a very strange problem with my S3 today.

For some reason, the battery was going down really really fast even though I wasn't even using it.
I checked the apps that were running, but there was nothing that was running.
Even in the battery stats, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

I left for school at 6am and left my phone in my room fully charged at 100%.

Then around 2.30pm i came home and my phone was left with 28%.

I checked the battery stats at this point but nothing seemed weird.

I rebooted the phone but the battery was still draining at a rate of 1% every 4 minutes.

I'm very sure that I did not leave mobile data, bluetooth, NFC, or wifi on while i was away.

I'm also very sure that i did not leave any apps running in the background.

After getting worried, I decided to turn the phone off and reinsert the battery. This seemed to solve the problem.

This has never happened to me before.

I was just wondering if anyone had experienced this before or has any idea what went wrong rclxub.gif

Wei... we just divert a bit, bit only mah. But truth to be told, I am loving the camera on the S3 more and more. Although I do own a DSLR (and quite a high end model in fact), I find that the colors and contrast on the S3 works for me most of the time for my jalan-jalan shots. So much so that I can even let the N8 die the peaceful death that it deserves so long ago. tongue.gif

according to the peeps in xda doing the comparisons.. only in certain situation that the Sony is slightly better than Samsung. Sth like the type of noise introduced.

in daylight, no difference.

Ya, a lot of manufacture using sony sensor such as Nikon (but they do a great job on FW to filter out the limitaion).

And i think most of the HP manufacture use Sony sensor too smile.gif

good tips.

so is it correct to say in dark/night situations, it's better to disable auto mode ? hmm.gif

use betterbatterystats to find out whats happening. It's free to download on XDA (XDA members edition)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809

charge your phone to 99, then unplug it from the usb. then don't touch your phone. just leave it be for 4-8 hours.

Then come back turn on phone and immediately check the betterbatterystats and see what it shows since unplugged in terms of

- wakelocks
- partial wake locks
- cpu state (how long was the deep sleep duration ? and was there lots of cpu usage going on or not ?)
