Wei... we just divert a bit, bit only mah. But truth to be told, I am loving the camera on the S3 more and more. Although I do own a DSLR (and quite a high end model in fact), I find that the colors and contrast on the S3 works for me most of the time for my jalan-jalan shots. So much so that I can even let the N8 die the peaceful death that it deserves so long ago. tongue.gif
*
quite true.. esp under good lighting like sunlight.. it takes very nice pictures with good sharpness (but i guess every other cameras are able to do so under sunlight as well)

colours and details are well preserved except that green colour is more saturated in most cases.

i like photography but sadly i'm too poor. I had a nikon coolpix 4mp prior to getting my Samsung Galaxy S3  cry.gif

Anyways, i'm pretty happy with the S3 video and camera abilities. It's not perfect but it's at the level where i wouldn't be ashamed of the quality  nod.gif

I want to use that cam mod to increase the bit rate, but i don't think it supports Jb at this time. I already asked hyper when he is going to add jb support  hmm.gif
*
bitrate is for the video.. doesn't affect photo if not mistaken.. that's wat i last read, unless he updates it with sth new..

1100 where got high end. It is just entry lvl lor... You can ask the Canon kaki in other section tongue.gif
Agree, i prefer the S3 burst mode, even my a77 with 12 fps no match with S3. S3 is using local buffer to store 20 fps while a77 SLT with higher resolution and yet small local buffer...
*
aiyoyoyo.. so much mistakes in your comment..

1100D is fallen's new camera.. alexlimco is using high end ones la.. u tot he noob meh.. rolleyes.gif

and FYI, S3 cannot do 20fps laa... it's doing around 3.3fps = 10 frames in 3 secs..

so for 20 frames, will take about 6 seconds.. don't believe? get a timer and try yourself..

but 1 thing, the noise lvl very high in S3.

Maybe they are using Sony sensor??? with higher noise?
*
noise is very high when ISO is >800... this is bcz.. most of the phones wont go higher than ISO 800. S3 has a max ISO of 1600 in Auto settings.. when things get really dark, then it will pump the ISO above 800 and that's where the noise comes out.

in Auto settings, the maximum shutter speed is only 1/17 to avoid handshake i guess. Hence, if u wanna take a less noise low light camera, u can either try HDR, or u can use night mode.

in night mode, max ISO is 800 while the max shutter speed is 0.5sec.. which is 3 stops of light in advantage at the same ISO. 3 stops of lights means a lot of difference. but be careful of handshake.

I am right, s3 using sony sensor...

They should improve the noise lvl, maybe a firmware to filter that...

Company that does great job in this area is Nikon. Hope Samsung hire nikon expert to tune the camera
*
no.. S3 has two batch for camera sensor.. one using sony, another using Samsung.

and, did u know that Nikon's D7000 is using Sony's sensor? unsure.gif

and the ISO performance of Sony NEX camera is very good.

bit off topic, but just trying to give a comparison.

don't know what you all talking about camera, lol

btw sony or samsung sensor better hmm.gif ?

according to the peeps in xda doing the comparisons.. only in certain situation that the Sony is slightly better than Samsung. Sth like the type of noise introduced.

in daylight, no difference.

QUOTE(YouDontKnowMyName @ Sep 3 2012, 05:16 PM)
Hey guys, I just had a very strange problem with my S3 today.

For some reason, the battery was going down really really fast even though I wasn't even using it.
I checked the apps that were running, but there was nothing that was running.
Even in the battery stats, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

I left for school at 6am and left my phone in my room fully charged at 100%.

Then around 2.30pm i came home and my phone was left with 28%.

I checked the battery stats at this point but nothing seemed weird.

I rebooted the phone but the battery was still draining at a rate of 1% every 4 minutes.

I'm very sure that I did not leave mobile data, bluetooth, NFC, or wifi on while i was away.

I'm also very sure that i did not leave any apps running in the background.

After getting worried, I decided to turn the phone off and reinsert the battery. This seemed to solve the problem.

This has never happened to me before.

I was just wondering if anyone had experienced this before or has any idea what went wrong  rclxub.gif
*
definitely some app is hogging cz it resolved after restart. means sth is hogging. just need to find out which 1

QUOTE(mmw5610 @ Sep 3 2012, 05:17 PM)
why my s3 with criskelo v8 rom keep on reboot itself?
*
u need to ask in the specific thread in xda.. nobody can help u here cz we are not the dev nor the user.

good tips.

so is it correct to say in dark/night situations, it's better to disable auto mode ?  hmm.gif
*
incorrect.. only switch to manual mode when you cant achieve/get the pictures u intended with Auto Mode for S3.
cz this saves up time if auto mode works well.

the scene mode and stuff are for those who know when and how to use it. read up my tips in my blog if u have time.

ya...my experience is flash rom not that much...so far i only flash 2 device : gnexus and tab 7 +... and all was stock rom...  s3 was a vy vy vy nice phone in terms of spec... but i don like those samsung bundle program... i get use to nexus interface already... so i think why not let me use gnexus with s3 spec...it should b cool then...
another question here... normally those stock rom it will gv u OTA update if got any... if i flash to those custom rom, how do i do update if there is a fix? need to download a flash again or got OTA also ? don't laugh at me if this question was too funny...
*
if u r familiar with nexus then u will have no problem with S3. in fact, it's even easier to flash S3.

if u don't like the programs, u can always manually remove it via titanium backup.

if u wan native JB experience, then there's other ROMs for that like super nexus.

OTA? custom roms usually have no OTA and u need to download the ROM again everytime there's an update. however, some dev are working on OTA-like updates in some ROMs. do check their descriptions respectively.

guys i have an idea here.. but dunno whether it can be done or not..

see.. i just found out that my student card supports nfc when i use an nfc app to set functions on it..
and i use this card everyday to open the hostel door or library stuffs etc..
does it mean that the card uses nfc?

if yes.. can i duplicate the data inside the student card to another nfc tag OR my s3?
coz it would be great to open the door using one of the nfc tag or just by my phone rclxms.gif
save the hassle to bring student card each time when going out

thanks in advance notworthy.gif
*
don't think u can..

imagine another person with nfc enabled phone did a scan with yr id card and then uses the phone (with yr id card info) and then do some illegal stuff. too dangerous if able to duplicate just like that.

security is very important.
