Hi there,

Please comment on which style you'd like to play, and whether you're gonna participate. Even if you're not, please tell us what you'd like the players to play on.

Me, or Evo or Led Zep will try to find a suitable track from previous or current guitar techniques issues.

Let's close this topic by friday, to be able post the backtrack before/during the week end.

Reminder : the LYN Jam provides a back track (Drums + Bass + Rythm), in which each participant will have a certain slot (about 30 to 60 seconds), during which he can do whatever he wants (editing, add overdubs, add rythm, EQ, limited to his slot ONLY).

Guitar, keyboards, trumpet, vocals, piano, keyboards, bass, drums... all instruments welcome !!

(please, accept my apologies for the limited choices of "genres", but available backtracks are quite limited) (next time, your genres' suggestion will be taken into account, promise)

Let's ROCK the FUNK out and JAZZ it up till bleeding BLUE METAL will pour over the COUNTRY ! laugh.gif

ok, so far classic rock is leading smile.gif
about the length of the song, we can still edit it and copy/paste one more verse...
easy.
brainy.
techy.

pixy.

zeroleet, do you know about mass moves ? at first, everybody wants to be in and at the end just a handful of guitarists are doing it. so don't worry, we'll all sort it out in its own time.

ok, just let open the pool till this friday afternoon (msian time), which means thursday evening in tahiti (aiyo, headache...).

keep voting...

I like thick and thin, from evo.com's post.
let me know if you guys like it too ? sounds like real fun biggrin.gif
then we go with splitting the slots to each one of us --> we can all work in parallel and copy/paste our slots in the final track !
2:15 -- 3:30, it's like the perfect time for a kick ass solo (or two).

ok, so we all go for thin and thick ?
i'll open a new thread if we're all OK about it. I'd like to give it a go this week end.

... i'm stunned. biggrin.gif
i did my choice already, knowing all the other backtracks available, and i'm proposing it as the backtrack for the Lyn Jam. "Thick or Thin". Yes or No ?

alright guys, here is the deal on Thick and Thin :
(1) 0:00 - 0:45 : part I (full guitars)
(2) 0:45 - 1:25 : part II (full guitars)
(3) 1:25 - 2:06 : part III (full guitars + melodic overdub)
(4) 2:07 - 2:46 : bridge I (drum + bass + acid guitars)
(5) 2:47 - 3:29 : bridge II (drum + bass + slightly more acidic guitars)
(6) 3:30 - 4:09 : part IV (full guitars)
(7) 4:10 - 4:43 : outro (repeated end of part IV)

Since we're nine we need to add 2 more slots for this track (copy/paste)

Now the thing we should do is decide who gets what.. I'll start, I'd like to go for the (4).
Since we're gonna duplicate two slots, we can duplicate a bridge or a part (I, II...)... depending on who wants to do what.
First to choose, first to be served... unless you negociate among yourselves.

I guess Jemi will join too ? Or wait for the metal track ? (in 2 or 3 weeks)

Just a thought : Regarding the shredders (jemi, zeroleet, ssslayerrr) they would fit in the bridge better (IMO !!! up to you to decide of course !!), which leaves more rooms for outer-modal runs, since there is less harmony.

led zep... yeah, i've some ideas like that BUT it's gonna be a good challenge to make them sound good : i really suck, technically (you did notice, didn't you ?).

evo.com ... copy and paste sounds interesting, at least we're not influenced by others.

i didn't start yet... and won't listen to zeroleet yet neither... i need some motivation before playing, and that wouldn't be happening after listening to zeroleet laugh.gif

regarding paste/copy, I can do it, but i feel that EBP or blacktrix might do it in a better way... those are the pro DJ in here. don't forget to watch the background volume of each track too.

blacktrix, what's your problem ???
have you done your part already ? check the end of previous page for details.

EBP > i'm not sure we'll wait till there, it's in 2 weeks... maybe you can do the next jam instead.

the last slot is still available for the ones who want to join... where are LYN music enthusiasts ? what about HH7 ?

i'm working on mine, should be finished before the week end... for the last 3 days i was scared, i thought I lost "it", seeing what a hell of a time i had trying to improvise something on such a track. but last night was so fruitful, i've no more worries laugh.gif
it's just a question of method, for me, it seems. I need to hear the track many times, and sing a solo before i can actually do something "acceptable". And then I have to loop 10s and do that part of my solo again and again until I can imagine what's going to happen next.
In other words, i'm stupidly slow.
