I tried that .. all it does is burn the hair off to skin level but the root stays there.

Isn't it that the epilator does the same?

No it's not. Epilator pulls out the hair including the roots. Like how you use a tweezer to pull your hair out.

Veet uses chemical to soften the hair and make it break off easily without removing the roots. I hate the smell and it doesn't work for me since it's like shaving, hair grows out very fast the next day.

Still like plucking yes, but like i said.. u need to give it time, about 1/2 year to see real results and the difference from hand plucking and using the epilator.
What model are u using? i am using one with speed control, and i find that it's easier to epilate with the "tweezer" bit is wet, and the area i am doing is wet. When dry, it does hurt sometimes and it doesn't pull all hairs out compared to when wet.

Mine is Braun Silk-epil. Two speeds with 20 tweezers. But mine grows quite fast and I can't stand having hair there so I pluck it everday - bad habit! sweat.gif
Coz the epilator can't grab very short hairs, and I have no patience biggrin.gif
I'm not sure whether my epilator can be wet though. How do you wet it? Just dip the head into water?

If you ask me, by "wet", I'd mean using the epilator in the bath. Usually your epilator will mention whether can use wet&dry or not.

I have 2 epilators, one was a cheaper one from Panasonic, other one was Braun Silk-epil 7. Both are wet & dry epilators. I prefer to use them when I'm in the bath. Sometimes I'll put on some bath soap then only use the epilator over it.

mine is a Panasonic. I find it's better to use an epilator in the shower, especially with my shaving foam.

How much are these epilators usually going for? Are they safe to use in the nether regions? How much will they hurt as compared to waxing?

There are cheap ones that range from RM30-RM100 like that, and they are Braun brand ones which are awesome and can cost up to RM500+.

For use on down south, refer to the threads, it was discussed before. Pain factor for epilating down south is wayyyy above waxing, unless you are used to tweezing your pubic hair out one by one. If you wanna know whether you can stand the pain or not, then start tweezing, if you can stand tweezing each strand of hair, then just imagine that the epilator will be tweezing out a few strands of hair at the same time.

Or you can always just Google "epilating pubic hair".

I prefer to use my power operated epilator, cuz the strength doesn't change and stays the same unlike the battery operated. But i do use the battery operated one when doing little bits/ few hairs only. I find that when the battery starts to go down and i continue to use it, it leaves reddish marks later, and the hairs werent pulled out corretly.. like it was taken off without it's roots. Dunno.. lol
I run the head under the tap, and the area i want to do is also wet. Sometimes i'll leave the shower gel still on while in the shower and use it. It comes off easier.

Most of the question have been answered.. thank you:)

Welli guess not everyone can afford an epilator, sign up for packages or go to the salon t get it professionally done. But my best and cheapest
solution to whitening areas like armpits and pubic area is the epilator. smile.gif thumbup.gif

I bought this limited edition set last time, about RM180 i think? i cant remember..
