Kinna successfully root it.
Unfortunately, this is the only way to root without unlocking the bootloader http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2138298 [Root][CWM][LB] Xperia V with locked boot loader |

QUOTE(neuromancerx @ Mar 11 2013, 08:55 AM) Hi darth, the first dependencies will be rooted 4.0.4 with locked bootloader. Will it work with 9.1.A.0.490? Well me to from jellybean, but to be safeI flash back to ics using Singapore ftf. Because I assume the kernel in ics and jb are different. Then flash the Japanese version. Got stuck @ no3. But since superuser are install I just skip to no 4, flash the Singapore ics ftf. Redo no2 in it.then continued on. Somehow I did have rooted jb at the end. But it better to follow the instruction to the letter I supposed. I usually have problem rooting any android.and always stuck somewhere so I usually skip. |

QUOTE(neuromancerx @ Mar 11 2013, 12:31 PM) I'm really eager to tried freexperia. Now still thinking rationally either to root with BL locked or unlocked Depends on u actually.oh, V is known as tsubasa right? http://uploaded.net/f/vj5vns Other than SOD which is probably a software issues. I don't know of any hardware issues with the V. So Unlocked it should be a non issue. Bear in mind that UB will void any warranty. And like the S, yellow tint issue, Sony may not even honor manufacturing defect if u unlocked it. |

QUOTE(capoi @ Mar 13 2013, 11:26 AM) Just now I install myxperia app. it require us to enable GPS in case we loss our phone and can trace it. My question is, does it consume more battery if we leave it ON for all the time and does it will heat up the phone? So far I'm just using GPS to navigate using papago and it will heat up the phone. To reduce the heat while using GPS, I turn OFF screen backlight. Did not yet try to ON GPS for 24 hours. Anybody tried to enable GPS all the time? YEah, me for years now. Android is a great system just because u enable it on all the time, does not mean it on all the time. It will be active only when an apps uses it. So on theory battery would not be effected as much. But recently I turn it off as I'm annoyed by some apps behavior Facebook and Google running in the background trying to know where I am all the time. |

QUOTE(neuromancerx @ Mar 13 2013, 01:31 PM) Yea funny. Was scratching my head to access recovery mode initially. Last time using i9100g is easy. Just use 3 button method. Vol up recovery, vol down download mode. Depends on the custom Rom.the developers will tell if their Rom is only for locked bootloader or both. Normally only stock based custom Rom will work with locked bootloader as only stock kernel can be flash.I have question, is it mandatory to unlock boot loader to use custom rom? Or flash through cwm is enough? So if u don't unlocked, u can't use AOSP,CM based Rom. Currently I think only 1 custom Rom exist for locked device, IN supersport if not mistaken. |

QUOTE(ryuzaki_L @ Apr 18 2013, 08:24 AM) Don't think so. Tx and T are still expensive.Probably due to customers scared of SOD and the 8gig internal memory. In my opinion XV is Sony lab rat. It was the 1st phone design by Sony herself, thus not bearing the SE logo. It was hit by production delays, and only available in limited market. Sony even originally stated a 2k over selling price. Oh and I finally found a 10 bucks screen protector for the V. Really liking it. |

QUOTE(ryuzaki_L @ Apr 30 2013, 10:26 AM) no SOD for me at the moment after 4 days using it with 1.140 fw. If long press didn't work. Double rapping the text will highlight the text follow by words editing menu.I still could not figure out how to make the lock screen with different wallpaper if using unlock pattern, any help? how to do highlighting & select all text? btw, personally think these few apps is great for xperia phone Exdialer - loads fast and plenty of themes and function ie swipe left/right on contacts to call/sms Ex contacts - an app to work on top of our phonebook app which is slow UC browser - rarely causes home screen to reload after quitting the browser (dunno whether is android problem or xperia home screen problem, using chrome, android, dolphin, opera and firefox always end with home screen reload) cheers Dont really use any 3rd party dialer, browser, sms or keyboard. The stock aren't perfect but there's little more attention to details that make it work wonderful |
