Massive big land opp SR can b entrepreneurs park or MaGIC?

I will b going kl tomolo, will find time to visit cyber

QUOTE(Soros007 @ Oct 14 2013, 12:53 PM)
The followings are my observation in my last visit to Cyber:-
1). Harvey Norman big warehouse / commercials will be in Selangor Science Park 2 (written on SSP2 panel).
2). Houston Grills restaurant - good quality food with reasonable price.
3). Sejati Residences - Super LV - all sold out except the corner units with bigger parcel of land. Their show unit (semi-D and bungalow) are nice but club house is kind of too small.
4). SEG - Semi-D phase (lepironia garden) structural frame works ongoing. LV units - piling still ongoing.
5). Massive big land clearing opp of SR - dun know what they are building especially it's commercial title.
6). Traffic is more and notice some luxury cars there.
7). Pangaea - Ground works completed and now is level 2 i think.

Rushing to Penang for holidays, thus didnt spend much time there but overall cyberjaya is moving on the right track and 3 years down the road start to see as a more vibrant city.

Expert: Malaysia is infrastructurally ready for cloud computing

by Nurul Iman Dimyati, fz.com (contributor to theedgemalaysia.com) on Monday, 14 October 2013 01:56Last Updated: 7:05am, Oct 14, 2013MALAYSIA is ready. This was all Bumi Armada Sdn Bhd chief information officer Chakib Abi Saab had to say about Malaysia's readiness and capability in adopting cloud computing systems. At the recent 2013 Cloud Computing Conference, Chakib said he believed Malaysia was ready thanks to a forward thinking government that developed the likes of Cyberjaya.“I think the government of Malaysia is quite forward thinking when you look at Cyberjaya today for example. You realise that this was a vision several years ago that is now becoming a reality.“So, Malaysia in terms of infrastructure, is ready. Malaysia has probably one of the best infrastructures out there for it,” he said, commending the government for not being a dawdler in information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure. What's next for Malaysia, he said, was to educate its people on cloud computing."We just need to educate people on the benefits of it," Chakib said, assuring the audience of some 300 that "there is not a Cyberjaya everywhere."Chakib's commendation of the government's provision in information and communications technology, was one echoed by Gartner Research Director Darryl Carlton.Carlton observed, as a visitor to Malaysia, he was impressed to find a government that can see beyond its term in office was something astounding. Carlton referred to the development of Cyberjaya which was the brainchild of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in the 1990s.“As a visitor to the country, you see this perhaps more starkly. Back in the 90s you had a prime minister who was espousing a vision, a 2020 vision.“The fact that you have a government that is looking well beyond its current term in office (and) investing decades into the future (in which they don't know who will be ruling) is quite stunning.“It should not be taken for granted,” said Carlton, adding that Cyberjaya and the vision was a huge achievement.“The adoption rate here is quite good, certainly faster than most of the world,” he said.Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) chief operating officer Ng Wan Peng projected her vision of cloud computing as a business model which will enable more organisations to adopt the technology.Ng added that the push for it was to help people gain more benefits from it.“Again, we are not pushing cloud just for its own sake. We believe this to be a model that will allow more people to have access to technology easily and that is something that we want to push for.“Pervasive use of technology is key to operational excellence, for efficiency, for productivity gain, as well as to reach out for more market share,” Ng said. The MSC Malaysia Cloud Computing Conference themed ‘Cloud Computing: Soar Above the Competition’ was a full-day event aimed at providing awareness to key decisions makers and industry players on the new emerging cloud computing solutions that elevate businesses to a higher level. For more stories, go to www.fz.com, the website for freedom of expression and fairness in articulation.

It may take another 8 to 10 yrs to reach the maturing stage. For sure we can see it in our life time. Lol

QUOTE(DrPitchard @ Oct 16 2013, 09:49 AM)

Very good and relevant question, how long/soon? I think it will happen more as a natural progression than a hard push from the mentioned stakeholders. Once the empty pockets of land between KL and Cyberjaya is filled up, then Malaysians will have not much choice but to further move down south. Empty pockets include south of Puchong and border of Serdang. Once the pockets of land are filled with development, then it will be Kajang, Bangi and Cyberjaya at full force. Similarly, Sungai Buloh and Gombak will have to be 'full' first before the Rawang undergoes massive development.

Just my 2 cents.

Is this from the magazine? So short only....

QUOTE(oldman13 @ Oct 16 2013, 11:57 AM)

Cyberview: Cyberjaya land no longer for sale

The Malaysian Reserve | October 17, 2013Cyberview Sdn Bhd is looking into engaging in private partnerships to develop the various components of the township development instead.by Linda ArchibaldPETALING JAYA: Cyberjaya township’s is remaining 1,500-acre landbank will not be sold for private property development. Instead, landowner Cyberview Sdn Bhd is looking into engaging in private partnerships to develop the various components of the township development. The government-linked company (GLC) recently decided on the move in favour of retaining its stake and ownership of the land.“Land is an equity…this will be a conduit for future steady stream of income,” managing director Faris Yahaya told The Malaysian Reserve yesterday, adding that the move will maintain the company’s leverage in Cyberjaya’s township development.Land, he said, is a lifeline of any company and the management deliberated concerns on the company’s future should all its existing land bank be sold.Todate, the company has sold up to 2,000 (809ha) acres of its 7,000 acre landbank for development to private developers and there are over 17 developers including UEM Land Sdn Bhd, Mah Sing Group Bhd, SP Setia Bhd, OSK Property Holdings Bhd and Paramount Corp Bhd that have development projects in the township. About 3,500 acres of the landbank are set aside for green belt and infrastructure. This is seen to be a move in a similar direction as Selangor State Development Corp (PKNS) which recently opted to form joint ventures with property developers for all its residential, mixed development and luxury housing projects. PKNS adopted a zero landbank strategy in which the company will not acquire any land for its development projects.Faris also announced that the company’s current joint-development housing project with RM1.02 billion gross development value, undertaken with Gadang Holdings Bhd as its construction partner, is making headway with a groundbreaking ceremony expected to take place by December this year.“The application for consent to plan has been submitted and we’re awaiting approval,” he said, optimistic of their plans to proceed with land clearing, piling and structural works once the consent is given. The project consists of 2,500 residential and commercial units, with nearly 900 of which are slated as affordable housing 1Malaysia People Housing programme, with the latter priced between RM220,000 and RM250,000.The home ownership of these affordable housing units come with three conditions. Firstly, it’s only made available to first-time house buyers, then it includes a six-year moratorium restricting house buyers from selling the property during this period, and priority for purchase is given to those working in Cyberjaya. In 2011, Cyberview reported a threefold rise in the sale of Cyberjaya land space. In October 2011, the company sold 646.3 acres (valued at RM1.23 billion) compared to 203.8 acres worth RM404.43 million in 2010. Cyberview’s (then) MD Hafidz Hashim described the Cyberjaya development had reached the tipping point.Of the 646.3 acres of land sold, 445.7 acres, valued at RM612.6 million, was acquired for residential development with some RM2.42 billion invested until October 2011. Some 165 acres, valued at RM551.7 million, was bought for enterprise and commercial development.Under the previous leadership, Cyberjaya already had RM3.73 billion worth of developments in the pipeline, targeting to achieve these through land sales of enterprise, commercial, institutional and residential space. The company had set its aim to reach a community of 32,000 residents by 2014.This content is provided by FMT content provider The Malaysian Reserve
