QUOTE(MrAkay @ Aug 29 2012, 10:00 PM) so, would you buy it?even mansurov says only his 3rd 28mm 1.8G sample was good, you'll find some other reviews also with issues on it...but none of them dying yet...perhaps they didnt have long with their sample. |

QUOTE(MrAkay @ Aug 29 2012, 11:00 PM) i wouldnt. if i was on a budget id prefer the 35 f2 or 24 f2.8. heck even the 20 2.8 i was thinking of it, else i wouldnt be checking up on the reviews.to me, the 28 just seems like too good to be true would u buy it? out of those 3, only 24 f/2.8 interests me...kinda cheap if look around...can find for around RM700. QUOTE(little ice @ Aug 30 2012, 01:17 AM) dunno recommended or not but for the price i paid (single pancake lens lightly below RM1350) i'm not sure what i want more from this camera yet, but maybe different story if i paid the price when it first launched. suits a casual shooter very well and with room to upgrade when specific lens is desire, i'd say it's a compact camera with good quality output but you can change the lens. no need bokeh la.to me i find that it's dead easy to use, i left virtually everything auto in A mode, ISO100-3200 auto and adjust aperture to taste. since the ISO3200 has enough quality for web or digital viewing so i don't really see the need to manually set the ISO unless you're critical about the image quality and want to make large print (but then you would be looking at different camera already). true but at the same time small sensor also screaming "where is my bokeh??!?" lol, waiting for Nikon to release fast prime lens but seems like the latest rumors only indicating f1.8 instead of the much more anticipated f1.4. even with f/1.4 on the 1-series, the comparable bokeh on FX is almost f/4, use it more for low light capabilities |

AF is common and how you deal with it ? Send back together with camera for calibration ? so even if the lens is calibrated for the body, once in awhile focus will still run...tho most of the time its good. the ppl i know using sigma are using it more for video This post has been edited by Everdying: Aug 31 2012, 12:35 PM |

QUOTE(KTCY @ Aug 31 2012, 01:25 PM) Lens firmware ? ya, lens firmware...since AF is not body driven...so the lens of cos needs to communicate with the body...then sometimes end up miscommunicate Celciuz told me nifty fifty that he bought like kena cheated Not gonna get nifty fifty. QUOTE(celciuz @ Aug 31 2012, 06:03 PM) My 50mm f/1.8G no issue, initially thought problematic because it wasn't "BETTER" than the older f/1.8D... well not as much as I expected to when I kept hearing the hype about the f/1.8G pawning the f/1.8D. maybe once u get ur D800, when it needs to start resolving the higher MP, then it'll start pwning |

QUOTE(ifer @ Sep 5 2012, 05:04 PM) was brain storming on nikon club yesterday and realise that the KL members are not really active when it comes to outing and walk around and stuffs. i thought the last KL one had 300 ppl or so going?any nikon club members here? have you been to any outings before? if not why? what do you hope to see in the future? i didnt go cos they started it at the ungodly hour of 8am plus it was like 95% jantan shooting at some model wannabes...damn boring. maybe u or azrul can bring out ur medium formats / TS lenses and show ppl how to shoot architecture stuff around KL...
