1. Fibroadenoma is benign breast condition occur in 15-25

2. How to know it is Fibroadenoma & not Breast Cancer etc?
- Highly mobile
- well defined
- painless
- smooth, firm
- no lymph node enlargment in axillary

3. How to treat?
- <4cm: we can choose to observe & see or if u're really worried then we do excisional biopsy
- >4cm: excisional biopsy

Excisional biopsy is removal of the breast lump & send for histopathology examination (HPE) to see whether is benign or malignant

just to share out my experience.....during my pregnancy check up, the doc asked bout my family's history. and my dad side aunt got breast cancer and passed away in her early 40s.

the doc said if the breast cancer occur when the patient is below 50 yo, doc would suspect it is in the gene, and she did some checking on me too.

her way of checking is 1stly lie down with ur hands up, and use the thumb and index finger to press around the nipple.

so everyone, please, if u got a close relative got breast cancer at young age, pls remind ur family member to at least do some self checking.

Mine was free. biggrin.gif Shouldn't be very expensive though; just a day case.
