my bf's sister just went to check for this, doctor took some sample(incision) and she has to go for surgery next week. it's quite expensive.

Better to take it out and send for biopsy just to be sure. Most are benign though.

Take some for biopsy, doctor will tell if it is needed to be removed by surgery or not...

which hospital is that...i was diagnosed with this as well..but no sample taken..doctor ask me to do surgery to remove it..surgery is nx week.....he said after removed ony the sample will be sent to test to rule out breast cancer...really scarry though...

I had a breast lump removed almost 20 years ago and luckily it was benign. If you are in Penang I would suggest you go to Lam Wah Ee Hospital and see Dato Yip. He's a very good surgeon.

im in Selangor...the hospital im going is SJMC...20 years ago..dats long..glad it was just a benign..can i ask few things..did the lump came back at same place or the other ? do u need to go for further checkups like doin ultrasound for few months once ?

how was the scar of the surgery...will it fade over time and how long did u take to recover back ?

during my ultrasound another lump found on the right hand side but very small and not detectable by hand so no removal is required now...but im scared if it will grow larger but for now i really need to confirmed its not cancer..im 27 years old...and also a rheumatoid arthiritis patient for the past 2 years...stil on medication... wonder y so many health problem keep coming...i was healthy ever after for the past 25 years....no family history of any kind of sickness.....

No the lump did not come back; thank god! I went back for checkups twice; after that I just monitor on my own. I've been for mammogram twice after that but did not follow up since I found out that mammogram could give false results.

Recovery was immediate! I wasn't in bed all day! It was just a day case and I was back home in the afternoon. Don't worry about it. Your wound would be plastered up and you could move about. My scar is non-existent. The cut was along the border of my areola so it's not noticeable at all. It was hard after it healed but after I took epo the skin softened and now it's like normal. I've been taking epo ever since. I just turned 57 last month.

At your age I doubt it could be cancer; it's just some sort of breast disease. Don't worry about it. The chances of a woman getting breast cancer in her thirties is very slim.

Its Dr. Samuel Tay...Breast Surgeon..everything was quick..lump detected 2 weeks ago...last friday went hosp-> ultrasound-> suggest to removed, surgery supposed to be yesterday but i postponed..i need time to consider it and to be prepared mentally..i nvr been for surgery before this...

Yes delaying another week won't worsen it. It should be a quick one and you could be up and running later in the day.

Ask your doctor whatever you need to ask; it's understandable that you be briefed on the procedure.

Added on August 30, 2012, 7:42 pmit started with a pain on the breast and when i touch to feel wher the pain is found a lump....thats wen i got the shock of my life and went to see doc.. to be frank the day before my fiance was playing and touching my breast

breast cancer is pretty common and deadly. My sis in law also got it. Now so scared and drink kangen water also. Life is short indeed. Take care people.

Your sis-in-law not related to you by blood. Her sis has higher risk. It's genetic.

Yes. Agreed. I mean, she also drink the water. But my mom and sis got lung cancer.

But everyone has got cancer cells in them. Its about timing and diet I guess. Skali wrong move, it pops up.

You know, I found out that I got cancer from having a small lump behind my nipple. Turned out it was a side effect from having cancer at testicle.

Get yours check, and hope for the best.

please don't worry first. most likely its not cancerous. even if it is cancer, breast cancers survival rate is very long. if you want a second opinion, please see prof yip(she's a lady) in either ummc or umsc.
