Thats true

Met a KN guy Wednesday night who came to SoR with his friend and was dissapointed with the state of our SEA/Asian timezone cos EB only had less than 10 guys on i think, and JQ BG were taking our towers easily

I told him we didnt want to stress too much on ppt, he said SoR wont remain in T1 very long then
Wanted to direct him to the mos millenium site but he just ran off

could you not bring the crap from gw2 forums over, thank you

BG has gotten really strong with the recent transfers. Have to watch out next few weeks whether DB is gaining strength enough to push us out or not.

Any rules here saying that we are not allowed to quote gw2 forum? shakehead.gif or simply just because you don't like it when people talking about your server? we all dislike but please just understand that people has the right to voice out our opinions. don't be such a forum warrior shakehead.gif

well, i never really read the official forum, only some news people show me. if u dont like what I called you, you could simply ignore it and didn't have to quote me unless u were intended to tell me that i was not allowed name calling you(oh which FOO's ex leader Waha has just admitted, worse than what I meant). Some guys doubted why bg actually 'bought' WM and not choosing SOR, if I was not allowed to say anything regarding this I apologize.

and you just reminded me

personally, i dont know if theres any actual deal between the leaders of the servers, im just one of the many players on the server
but SoR had organised fights against FoO for few weeks before their "collapse", apart from those times nobody knows about whatever happens between leaders. anybody can spread rumors but i'd take it with caution
both Waha and Indo (SoR commander) has spoken well of each other in forum. but anybody can put on a nice face rite sweat.gif

about WM to BG thing, nothing wrong with posting those. WM has already stated why they chose BG, one of the reasons was trolls supposedly from SoR whisper him with insults and taunts. were they really from SoR? cos if i wanted WM to come over, i wouldnt do those things, makes no sense. dont know really
what i do know is that there are players who like to troll from SoR. im sure there are some on BG too

i dont think theres any issue with helping other guilds to transfer with gold. 2k can only transfer about 40+ people?
just that SoR in general has different policy on this matter thats all

EB jumping puzzle will soon have its own map, but you will still need to get to EB before you can go enter the portal....

This will resolve the Q issue in EB....

unker, once you enter the JP map, you'll be removed from EB server population count.... someone else can enter EB right after you enter the JP portal....

errr... no no... not more, same as before.... people in the JP area will not be counted towards the number of people in EB..... the have separate count... as of now, people in JP are counted, causing Q to enter EB... in the next patch they will not be counted... means more people who truly come to EB for war can come in....

yes, but if u look at it from another angle ...

WvW can support about
2000 players over 4 maps so that means about
500 per map or
167 per server.

say the new EB JP map can hold 500 people also.
nvm, not important.

lets look at the new EB, supposedly free of EB JP campers.

people who enjoy fighting in EB will go,
"EB JP separate map liao! lets go camp in EB, fight supplies, towers, enemies etc."

as a result, more people may enter EB.

EB full, queue lagi.
those who wanna get into EB JP cannot, since EB full, queue.

and ...

yeah, "more people" it will be these "more people" that will fill up EB for longer period of time.

but the above is looking at things negatively.

looking on the bright side, there probably wun be much WvW players sooo EB will remain free of queue always!
yay!

we in tier 4 (SoS, CD, SBI) should be okay.

for those in upper tiers.
i doubt there will be much change.

its always queue for them.

I joined them after awhile with AFS. Then AFS decided to boot me seeing me in WvW representing MERC instead of them. Nvm that time we're jumping to BG anyway.

Though they are not mainly SEA players but they still can come up with about 20-30-ish players during SEA prime time.

Most importantly is the commander head count and also highly organized in zerg run.

Wow...been a long time since I last checked this thing.

I'm surprised people still post on this sub thread.

Well anyways back to GW2 WvW.

I read up top that people are concern for SoR's current SEA/Asian coverage.

And yes, that particular timezone is near shambles.

Why ?

No one really cares for PPT (as there's no real Euro coverage to replace us after we log off)

In-frequent turn outs for WvW. (like every server people get bored of WvW)

The number game (except it's always fun to beat something thats twice our size and watch it become smaller)

Lack of the 'big picture' mentality.

State of the game (Anet's fault tbh)

So what has this got to do with my guild then ?

AFS has now been on SoR for the last 1 and a half months.

We moved over from SoS as we saw that competition on that server was almost depleted. The competitive nature of the guild was conflicting with the server's current casual guilds. With all the different major WvW guilds leaving, it basically became boring to play WvW on SoS.

Down came the decision to xfer or turn into a PvX guild. Both had more Cons than Pros. To defend my guild I would say that xfering was never really an answer to anything, but a decision that was forced onto us.

The decision to kick members from the guild also came from that fact that AFS runs on guild loyalty (the people who stayed longest with this guild knows what I'm talking about) We do not force builds on anyone, but recommend what we believe is most suitable for someone. We do not pay off our people to run WvW, we do not provide prizes for anyone who joins us and we probably lose money while playing WvW.

In the end we are a guild that enjoy's the whole principle of WvW. Working with other guilds in our timezone to beat back another server's large force.

Which brings me to the above point.

Sad to say, last night on Tuesday 7th of May 2013. I was extremely disappointed in SoR, I came online at 9pm (+8 gmt) into EB and there was no one on the map except for maybe 15-18 people.

Out of those 18, atleast 10-15 were AFS...

This is a T1 server, I told myself. Yet to see [Outmanned] in EB was a joke. I died alittle last night, and thought to myself "Wow, I xfered here for this?" let alone my entire guild.

Xfering was less of the two evils and when people say 'Oh they are just doing it for the money' well let me explain that to you as well.

Xfering while receiving some kind of compensation is of course against someone's so-called 'Ethics'. But end of the day a guild needs to have some kind of fall back if it wants to stay alive. This is of course the only thing that helps guilds in GW2...as Anet has of yet solved the problem behind WvW. I do not personally blame WM/KOR/MEOW for going to BG as they were offered a substantial ammount (SoR was asked to match it)

(AFS never took any money from SoR mind you. So I'm not covering my own ass when I say this.)

If only the community of SoR had the same mentality of BG, that gold may have been put up for grabs (and most likely buy more guilds over)

So was xfering the issue ?

I don't think so.

Then what is ?

SoR has a culture of just having fun, people here say 'We don't care for PPT' and believe that it isn't that important.....these people are lying idiots and have no idea how WvW works.

Points in WvW are the only current method used by Anet to determine a server's current strength and coverage. It is the only thing that's probably why JQ/BG/SOR are still fighting each other in the Tier 1 bracket. To say "We don't play for PPT" is like saying "well I just go into WvW to die alot and I love dieing"

AFS does not care too much for the PPT as well, however we do care enough to use the WvW timer to our advantage instead of looking at it as a liability. We watch the clock tick to 5 mins and ask ourselves "okay what can we take atm to add into the tally?"

And in the end we notice that most of our members actually didn't realize how fun it was to use the PPT as an indicator to beat our enemies.

Anyways to conclude. ( cause I can write 4-5 pages of this shit and everyone will ignore it)

Why is SoR SEA/Timezone dieing out?

I think it's again Anet's fault for making an interesting mode yet, f*** it up for everyone due to lack of information.

With people losing interest in the game and it is up to the the guild leader to retain their interest.

Problem is, not all Guild leaders have the time to do that. (Or bothered)
