is true that there is no clear reason to choose Pentax over other brand plus it has no FF camera and lack of marketing in malaysia region
heard during camera fair that seller say Pentax has lower price compared to other DSLR brand, but just want to know how far the price to performance ratio goes, as im in tight budget now, Nikonny D7100 and Canny 70D does not really attract me much especially not much big changes over the previous generation...
is a bit sad that no FF camera and cannot fully utilize the Asahi and Super Takumar lens...or thy might release a 645D in a smaller size...
for the TAv mode, is it some thing like Auto ISO setting? would really like to hands on one
azerak, what do you mean by TT? mind give me some detail about their event at amcorp mall?
Hi lamjunrong.
I think the Nikon D7100 has improved significantly from the D7000. The D7100 has a 24MP Toshiba sensor which some people claims has a very good high ISO noise performance. And to be honest, I think the price is very fair too. Considering the K-5 IIs is around RM3,990 whereby the Nikon D7100 is around RM3,700. Really made me think twice about the D7100. But, in the end, I would go for the K-5 IIs due to its ability to focus at extreme low light without the AF assist light and also the number of K mount lens I have.
You can still enjoy all those old legacy manual lens. You can get a 50mm f1.7 as low as RM3++. Can try ask bro Azerak for price.
In TAv mode, you just need to set the shutter and the aperture. The camera will determine the ISO you need. If extended ISO is enable, you can happily shot from ISO 80 to 51,200.
At the end, it really depends on your requirements. If you don't need to focus much in low light situation and you don't need the extra sharpness from the non AA filtered sensor, can also consider a used K-5 or a new K-30. Get one of those and pair it with a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 or a 28-75 f2.8. You are good to go.
I think rumors has spread that they will come out with a 645D mirror-less system. Don't know how true it is.
Cheers and happy shopping......
