To me the wireless charging is the least beneficial feature 920 has to offer. It's cool of cz but can't see the real point in it. And based on wp7, wp8 doesn't need quadcore 2.0ghz whatever processor to run smooth. Using inferior hardware it's fluidity and speed is already on par if not better than iphone. Apps will come if wp8 proved to be a hit.
Right now the only thing that could stop me from getting it is crazy pricing. We'll see.
just because Apple said its "pointless" now the entire herd is saying that its pointless?
Advantages of wireless charging:
1. Especially with Coffee bean signing up to provide wireless charging pad at Coffee Bean outlets will allow wireless charging for supported hand sets. If your phone's battery is dying, you can conveniently place the phone on the charging pad while having your lunch for example! This is especially usefull if you have important phone calls to make. No one carry their charger with them. VERY FEW carry USB charging cable with to allow laptop charging. Even less people carry around a spare smartphone battery.
2. With wireless charging, you do not keep on plugging and unplugging charging cable from your phone greatly reducing chance of spoiling the charging connector on the phone. I have personally experienced this on my motorola handsets. A charging pad can be permanent plugged to a socket. You just turn the switch on if you want to use it.
3. For users of multiple smartphones, more than one phones can be charged at a time.
4. Great designs of charging pad. the fat boy charging pillow for example - with its soft surface - making scratching your phone almost impossible.
5. Bragging right. Its cool. its something that an expensive iphone is too dump to do.

So Tim Cook, i am not a CEO of the company of the worlds most used smartphone yet I managed to come up with five advantages of wireless charging to PROVE that you are WRONG. Wireless charging is NOT pointless as you have said so!
