Coz I read from gsmarena that it does not have this feature

http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_lumia_920-review-858p5.php

and also on their app market has this

http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/ap...95-02cea68a27b2

which I hope anyone with a WP phone can confirm this .

I am sorry but 'smart dialer' sounds 1mil times more ridiculous than how Apple perceives wireless charging!!!

from you description of the feature, it seems that you must already have saved the number for it to auto appear when you dial the first 2 digits for example - its like auto suggest in internet browser minus the fact that in web browsers - they give suggestion on URLs that are not in your favourite.

Why would one wants to type the digits of a phone number instead of going to the saved contact in People Hub? I mean, all mobile numbers in Malaysia either start with 010, 012, 013, 016, 019, 017 etc. So you need to type at least four digits for your phone to auto suggest the numbers from your phone. and who remembers the phone numbers of a friend nowadays? It must much hassle and not to mention MUCH LESS click to go to People Hub. It auto suggest the name of the contacts instead of the tel number. You also can list the contacts by alphabets/number. Not to mention to get all types of contacts of that person, from phone to instant messenger to facebook chat.

It's not typing the number, it's typing the name. As u type, the phone will suggest. It's a feature & it's always nice to have options. U like it, u use it. U don't like it, u don't use it.

ermmmm but this feature IS in Windows Phone. My phone has it, my colleague's phone has it. We are both running on Windows 7.5. I dont see how this is removed from Windows Phone 8.

you go to people hub, type in the first letter of contact J for example, it will list everybodys name starting with j. it will filter further the more letters that you put in.

i just tried Windows Phone 7.5. i put in the full number of the person that i wanted to dial. It did not auto suggest the name. But after I dialed the number - the name of the person that I dialed appeared in the dialed number list/history.

I can't switch to outlook.com because of this

Warning: You might not want to change this email address if you've used it to set up a Windows Phone. On your phone, features that use this address will stop working, including Marketplace, Xbox LIVE, SkyDrive, email, and others. To use these features again on your phone, you'd need to restore it to factory settings, which erases all personal content.

***be extra caution if you have others account associated with your hotmail.com

I switched all my Hotmail accounts to Outlook. I have no problem all my Hotmail/outlook accounts to Windows Phone. My emails are still ending with @Hotmail.com
