Hi all.

Need some recommendations. I am looking for a nice monitor which has a swivel for vertical use. Low-to mid range is fine. Do not need anything fancy schmancy. Anyone with a vertical monitor setup here? Any advice?

Thanks y'all

hi, i purchase a dell u2312hm with 5 year warranty for my friends from a big online seller that also do wholesale and retail business, they courier the monitor with the whole box to me, the box didnt open before, the monitor itself is brand new and good, verify it with dell monitors factory menu, monitor uptime, the box has dell service tag sticker, but the dell order number sticker is removed, when i email the online seller, they claim it is removed becoz they also do wholesale business, those reseller purchase from them dont want to let their customer know where they get their stock from, it is a valid reason, but i purchase directly with them, without any reseller, and they also do retail, online seller business themself, they shouldnt remove the dell order number sticker at all of their dell monitor box in advance.

the problem right now is, dell default warranty for this price range of dell monitor is 3 year, for verify this one does came with/upgraded to 5 year warranty, would need the dell order number, cannot verify it with the dell service tag, dell will not honor 5 year warranty without dell order number, only default 3 year warranty would be provided, even if the dell monitor was came with/upgraded to 5 year warranty.

i do email the online seller, they said they would provide me the dell order number, by asking me the photo of the dell service tag sticker at the box, but it has been around 2 weeks since i last getting reply from them, their management.

I am following this topic with much interest as I am in the process of getting one. Possible to share the seller name?

Thanks for posting, Alpha_Tay.
I've just spoken to Dell over the 3 vs 5 years warranty and RMA claims for U2312HM.

Indeed for Dell to verify your warranty whether it's 3 or 5 years you will need the Order Number. When I've requested for RMA, they've also requested for the S/N (eg, CN-0xxxxx-xxxxx-xxx-xxxx) and a scan/clear picture of the receipt.

Now, I believe if you want to claim warranty for your U2312HM once it had aged more than 3 years, you would need the Order Number for them to verify that this indeed eligible for 5 years.

Which big online seller is this?

I'm looking to buy a 19-20" monitor to pair with inspiron 660s slim tower for my wife. Usage would be office works and occasional browsing. Budget is less than RM350. Dell's website is not helpful - can't order - so I'm looking at alternative like Samsung/AOC/ASUS from the czone pricelist. Which of these monitors are the most reliable?

i am waiting for their big company to fix this issue by giving me the dell order number instead of bad mouth about them everywhere, just trying to let ppl know the case and it isnt the correct standard of doing thing, i would let ppl know the name if this case isnt fixed even after very long wait.

just receiving an email from them last night tuesday 10: 23 PM after email enquiry to them again few hours before, was told /Sorry for delay , was busy last week . Already follow up with warehouse , will let you know by tomorrow/
but i dont receive any words today.

their company is quite big, i email their company email for purchase, was replied by one of their System Engineer, the dell order number warranty issue was forwarded to their Sales & Marketing Director, now i was told it would be the warehouse be able to get me the dell order number after long query with the Sales & Marketing Director.

most of mainstream are IPS panel for AOC.
samsung value buy models mostly are TN panel. even some are better with VA panel but IPS still better than VA.
ASUS most of models I see before, expensive. no see further.

either it is a lie or they just stuck at all the department and how to store and find information. right now the dell monitor has not problem whatsoever, just want to make sure i get what i brought, which is 5 year warranty, that is all. dell monitor warranty is claim from dell malaysia right? on-site or postage. what is the point to go thru online reseller as middle man, who is paying for the postage fee and service charges?

if you want to make sure what you get, MUST buy only from Dell Malaysia Authorize Dealer. dealer receipt provided is your proof of purchased and confirm recognized by Dell Malaysia. don't complain if you want to get dirty cheap product from grey market.

just to remind, there is many unauthorized online seller's stock are not source from Dell Malaysia and not valid for Dell Malaysia warranty support. Beside remove the order number sticker, some are even worst, they sell you ARB monitors with normal price and remove the ARB sticker but did not tell you the truth.

if you already bought, why not you share with us who is the online seller you bought from? maybe we can help to confirm if there is any background of the online seller?

How to check if a dealer is Dell Malaysia Authorize or not? I am sure if one asks, all dealers will say they are authorised.

hi, i do consider buy direct from dell.com.my before, but they didnt list the price of u2312hm anymore, and i tried to chat with dell.com.my online chat agent, they reply me with /The monitor cost RM 719, 3 years warranty/, price has grown too high consider that most price grown that sell online is only about RM650 for 5 year warranty.

dell -> local distri -> reseller -> user. i'm working in computer shop & this is the real scenario
dell issue order to distributor not reseller. so need the boss to call distri in-charge person.

nobody can 100% guarantee every single dealer did not mixed their stock from difference sources to maximize their profit.

at first, I don't understand why the order number sticker are removed? at least must have dealer receipt when call dell if no order number. typical lazy dealer, they can help customer if they willing to go a little extra miles for RMA. for monitor stand alone, there is no on-site service or technician; when you call dell, just send a normal courier service lorry driver send you an monitor and collect back your faulty monitor.
