No. I called and checked before, online shopping refers specifically to Shopee & Lazada, everything else are consider retail transactions.

Really? That's not what the CS told me when I called and ask, I had wanted to use VI to purchase over 5k worth of flight ticket so I purposely called up to confirm if it is eligible for 8x, and the CS told me online purchase is only for Shopee/Lazada, I ended up using AMEX instead.
Alliance tnc is always very confusing and not clear-cut like some banks, their cc statement also made it hard to decipher how the points are calculated, especially if your purchases consist of various categories.

I just redeemed for AA when there's a campaign last month for AA points redemption.
I used to be able to link AA with Fave to make payments with AA points, not sure about now, haven't use Fave for a while.
