TM had earlier imposed a 50% occupancy rate as the primary condition before committing on providing Unifi services to SW. They r just plain calculative n uncaring. SW'kians r treated like outlaws. It has nothing to do with either Maxis (monopoly) or any so-called agreement between these 2 telco taikos.

if so, then the solution is quite easy? just get all the tenants and owners to write in to TM demanding unifi in order to demonstrate demand?

JMB is hopeless la. Members are incompetent and lacking in business/corporate experience. Many are SPS cronies as well.

Question to ask is why did the JMB appoint SPS as the property manager for SW?

Was the appointment done in a transparent manner?

Was there an open tender?

Are there no competent and effective property managers out there?

Put it this way, SPS can't even fill up their own Entertainment block.

What more can you expect from them? vmad.gif

guys, i have lodged a complaint with the MCMC on the poor telco reception and absence of Maxis fiber internet at SW.

hopefully this will pressure Maxis (via MCMC) to do the needful. Maxis must stop giving us nonsensical excuses.

Hi bizklguy thanks for the clarification. I have a residential unit in R3 block, and yes it does come with a phone wall jack. I got confused earlier when I was told by someone in the Management Office that even phone lines have run out but upon asking him to recheck, am told that it is available and we should also be able to subscribe to the 1Mbps ADSL if we get a phone line. What makes it even more confusing is that Maxis customer service on the phone do not know anything about it and keep asking you to subscribe to Maxis Home Wireless Internet instead. Seems like the only way to subscribe is to walk in to a Maxis Center and ask specifically for the home fixed line.

So now it seems certain that Fiber Internet will not be here in the near future. We are left with the choice of either having a slow but wired and largely unlimited bandwidth ADSL connection, or a choice of possibly faster wireless access that is limited with spotty coverage depending on your location. Definitely not up to standard in this day and age, and I will proceed with the complaint to MCMC. I suggest other residents here do the same.
