Today i got a call from a lady in Maxis as a response to my complaint to MCMC (aduan@cfm.org.my). She confirmed that there is currently no plans for fiber to be made available in Puchong Wawasan area and Setia Walk. According to her, they are only planning to upgrade the existing ADSL lines to support higher speeds, but is unable to give me a timeframe or an indication of the package pricing etc. She is unable to give a reason why they cannot provide fiber other than to say that it is an internal reason.

I am not satisfied with this response as I think even if they can upgrade the ADSL, it cannot compare to fiber and the pricing will probably be much higher.  As it is we are already having to pay RM113/mth on the existing 1Mbps ADSL with real download speeds of about 0.60 (i know because i have stayed in a previous location in Puchong Wawasan). I told her that I will tell MCMC that the matter is not resolved satisfactorily if they ask for feedback.

Maybe if more people make their dissatisfaction loud and clear it can make a difference.

not so audible if u close all the doors, put on some soft music and if you are just like me located on the high level >20 and facing Ayer Hitam forest.
