IC, im really tempted by Galaxy GTX 660ti GC 2gb. But i find someting weird is that no seller in LY plaza selling this brand, only in garage sale got ppl sell.
*
FYI, a reference Leadtek GTX 670 costs around RM1129 only, so i'm not sure how much the Galaxy costs compared to this one? biggrin.gif

how much u bought your 670 PE??
last time u used asus 670 right?
any comment/recomendation between these 2 brand?
thank bro notworthy.gif

Close to the SRP that you see today. biggrin.gif Yes, i've also briefly used an Asus before. Some of my comments and summary:

Asus
1. Quitest fans. Load temp at 76C.
2. Relatively high boost clock at 1137MHz, even though the default clock speed is only at 915MHz (reference speed).
3. Solid build, with backplate.

MSI
1. Overclocked out of the box, performance on par/close to a stock 680. Boost clock observed at 1175MHz.
2. Better temps compared to Asus. Load temp at BF3 only 69C.
3. More expensive compared to Asus 670 DCUII (non TOP).
4. Fans have blue bling-bling, not too bright though. laugh.gif
5. Quite loud at startup, due to the "dust removal technology". Other than that, the fans are very quiet during idle or even at load temps.

Overall, i would say both are excellent cards. I just prefer the MSI PE slightly due to the overclocked out of the box experience. laugh.gif I'm not one who likes to OC the card anyway. tongue.gif

did u bought from BJ shop your's 670 PE??
*
Hahaha, yes. It's best to see them for yourself. No, i bought the 670 from Garage Sales (idealtech). smile.gif The BJ shop only has Asus and Gigabyte 670 last i checked.

no wonder la,a week before raya i went there but didnt saw any MSI PE... laugh.gif
so i just have a look on asus and gigabyte but didnt open the box...only holding the box and asking for best price... sweat.gif

i wonder if my psu can cover this 670 hmm.gif ...previously my rig using by ati 6870(sold ady) with psu coolermaster silent pro 700W,seem like manufacture page show i only need 550W psu(gigabyte)...
im using FX4100 oc to 4.Oghz,H100,5 fans excluded H100 fans,1 DVD rw,2x4Gb ram oc to 1600mhz,asus dx sound card...

maybe after this my psu will bottle neck cry.gif

Can't really find MSI cards in Penang, except for PC Depot only. But they don't have PE edition. Why not you consider Leadtek GTX 670? You can get it from either boonykun, lingloong, zhen^wei/yoongkeen in Garage Sales. It's the best-bang-for-buck GTX 670. You shouldn't worry too much about power consumption. Your 700W PSU seems plentiful for that purpose. smile.gif

Hoho, you have made me now target PE rather than jet stream when you said PE also got blue led!!

And PE should be able to clock higher due to binned chips, so if it gets to 1399 or  lower, straight grabbing it!!
*
Yup, i also didn't know about that at first. But the bling-bling consider very "mild" only la. You can see this photo. For the OC, hard to say for certain. In Techpowerup, they coudn't push the PE that far. Turned out the Palit has the highest overclock. biggrin.gif But Guru3D is able to get about 1120 MHz (boost to 1300MHz), so i guess it also depends on luck and how overclockable the GPU is. laugh.gif

im not toward reference card... sweat.gif
but boonykun, lingloong, zhen^wei, yoongkeen surely offer a really nice price... thumbup.gif
i did some psu calculation,i know that it isnt 100% accurate...
here is it:
[attachmentid=3012787]

seem like its almost hit the peak... shocking.gif  cry.gif
that really worrying me out... cry.gif  cry.gif  rclxub.gif

PM them for the best price. brows.gif But know that PE is among one of the more expensive 670s around.

Just use that as a guideline only, 700W is sufficient for your needs.

Hahaha, just fork out the extra RM30 for the PE. No need to watch movie for 1 week with awek. I foresee this model will be one of the hot cakes for 670. tongue.gif

among all those brand (asus, giga and msi), which one got the highest 2nd hand value? sweat.gif

Hard to say. But the Asus definitely got demand cos it's one of the most sought after 670, and i understand there are some shortages also.

I think asus and MSI one got more demand. Not really favor the gigabyte card. Looks ugly.

Yup, that's a good idea but our friend here doesn't want a reference design. tongue.gif So kita kasi PE poison sama dia. brows.gif

i just read this...

can anyone explain what is the meaning of "In addition, the beta driver provides fixes for where some manufacturer’s factory overclocked cards default to and run at lower clocks" icon_question.gif

i can brain it...does that mean the card running at 915mhz(standard reference clock) sweat.gif
*
It means something like below. But so far, i have not heard anyone facing this problem.

Example:

Card A - Factory OC, clock speed = 1020MHz ==> but running at only 915MHz
Card B - Default, clock speed = 915MHz ==> running at 915MHz

Not necessarily. From their statement, they might "default to and run at lower clocks".

what about a few years later games?
*
Even a 2 generation old mid-end card GTX 460 still can play most of the latest games fine. Of cos we might probably need to lower the eye candies settings (AA, AF). I believe a 670 should serve you well couple of years down the road.

You can just go with the Leadtek GTX 670, RM1129. The best-bang-for-buck 670 out there. biggrin.gif

Ya, it's still quite expensive. I guess maybe you can also wait for the prices of GTX 660 Ti to go down first? The Leadtek one also seems cheaper.

Welcome and enjoy your brand new toy. brows.gif Just crank up those AA / AF settings in your games and enjoy. The GTX 670 is plenty powerful and should allow you to max out most of the games in 1080p resolution. Also, what are your other system specs?
