Why don't use direct premium download accounts ... consistently achieve 1.0~1.2MB/sec

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Oct 20 2012, 03:19 AM) Need to get some feedback... I'm shifting to a new place and since my current contract with Unifi (20Mbps) was already over since last July, I'm tempted to switch to Maxis. More so with the new offer that Maxis is offerring. Is it a wise move? Keep hearing connection problems with Maxis. I have nothing but pleasant experience with Unifi. No broken connections or throttled downloads from what I can see. Based on your requirement... Go for Maxis Home Fibre.I save RM 300 required to move my Unifi connection from current to new place. Don't watch the HyppTV and therefore won't miss a thing if I go with Maxis. I will pay RM 51 less every month for the same speed as I have now with Unifi. Alternatively, I can have faster 30Mbps speed at RM 1 less every month than what I'm currently paying. I don't game and I don't torrent but I download movies heavily. I download using paid premium accounts. Thanks. |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Sep 26 2012, 11:50 AM) Look at your Maxis to Maxis calls total then tally it with Home 150 rebates and discount. Just check my bill on this matter....No black and white stating which one takes precedence. But I was informed my Maxis center MV that the free minutes gets deducted first. Try call 123 at your end, they will give you different answers. Added on September 26, 2012, 11:55 amThe is a bug in Maxis Mobile billing system too. The Maxis to Maxis calls section includes TM fixed line calls as well. The "Home 10Mbps FOC 150 Mobile Minutes (On-Net Mobile)" calculation is all Maxis-Maxis only calls. Calculation for both months (Sep & Oct) seem to be OK. I notice TM fixed number listed under "Domestic Maxis-to-Maxis Voice Calls" |

QUOTE(tonynk9 @ Oct 24 2012, 10:19 PM) the issues started after midnight yesterday: Are you on Public IP address ?1. the internet LED light at the router turnd red a few times and disconnected for a few secs and after a few hours later im not able to use internet at all 2. when i try to connect it shows authentication failed (im 100pct sure i keyed the correct password as im using the same password to login just now) 4. but the weird thing was my VOIP phone worked with no issue, isnt it supposed to affect VOIP since it using internet connections as well??no? 5.just called maxis CS service for the authentication failed problem... the operator said that he reset my modem settings while i talked to him using the VOIP phone... then he asked me to login and internet working again.... hmmm im suddenly hv a feeling that maxis is doing something fishy with my connection as i didn't change any setting in my modem & router... |

QUOTE(winter01942 @ Oct 25 2012, 12:50 AM) Can anybody summarise all the Pros and Cons from this 2 ISPs?? Based on your keywords: go for UniFiAnd probably spoiler it in the 1st few posts??? going through 77 pages of mixed reviews are.... sorry, but... I am really curious about the real performance of the 10Mbps line.. Is it as good as Unifi?? Aspects like Average Speed, Ping, P2P, Connection Issues, maybe a more direct comparison (from majority of the users) in a certain place?? I am a gamer, i will prefer lower ping and go for unifi5 if the maxis is really bad at it...And i also do BitTorrent downloads once in a while (for new online game installers, they're getting more and more huge ) And i from the recent posts there are connection issues?? Can someone guide me through this as i am planning to upgrade from ADSL and i am not using unifi ATM |

QUOTE(kiawin @ Oct 27 2012, 07:25 PM) One thing I discovered is that, once you obtained the Public IP access, actually you still can connect to Private IP using back the @home.maxis.com.my. It works with my account. Not sure whether this applies to everyone or not This is a good find if it's true |
