QUOTE(akachester @ Jan 28 2007, 12:48 AM)
I am currently considering a good aftermarket GC cooler to replace my stock Galaxy 7300GT cooler (its not a zalman one) but i do not have any good suggestion on my mind.I had been thinking of getting the Zalman Fatal1ty FC-Z9 VGA cooler but i am still wondering, is there any other good options around?i for one would really love to have a great cooler that not only performs good, but looks great as well.

I know that TR is one of the best VGA cooler around but i am not so much a fan it.Anyway, besides the TR, is there any other great GC cooler around that performs well (and hopefully looks good as well)?I had started to really like the Zerotherm GX810 but i cant really find any useful reviews lying around.Anyone knows how good it is?And considering the fact that its relatively cheap (from Shawty's bulk), i feel it would be a good buy if it performs better than the Zalman at least...
*
IMO, Zerotherm GX810 is a good buy and its performance is on par with Zalman VF900CU but lost to Zalman FC-Z9 due to lower fan speed. So you seriously consider getting the Zeotherm, cheap and nice.

O..ok.But i must try looking for more review on the Zerotherm to be really convinced.Cause the Zalman FC-Z9 isnt that expensive either.
*
but with zalman fc-z9 pricing, you better get a TR HR 03 smile.gif then buy a cheap fan to place on it. hehee...

The side where there is a piece of copper heat sink lies....  thumbup.gif

which is always hard to cool off due to the placement ...  sweat.gif

i see.... HR 03 cant cool that sad.gif

QUOTE(akachester @ Jan 28 2007, 12:17 PM)
lol..you are right as well.Let me do some research first on the Zerotherm before making  up my mind.Anyone seen any review before?

Anyway, would the Zerotherm GX810 and the Zalman Fatal1ty FC-Z9 works on 7300GT?I didnt see any 7300 in the compatible list..
__________________________________________________________________

Edited:

Just done a research on my own regarding the Zerotherm GX810 and it seems that it aint that promising as well.Test shows that it lost to the Zalman VF-700 LED but might be due to the low speed fan of the Zerotherm.Still didnt see any result on full speed of the fan yet.Now i am in doubts..lol...

i am quite sure that zalman fata1ty can fit 7300gt but not sure about Zerotherm. should be not a problem.

thanks for review. hehe.

QUOTE(akachester @ Jan 29 2007, 04:32 PM)
Ok..Is there any special case that i should remember in making sure the specific cooler can fit my card?Cause from what i see, the Fatal1ty FC-ZV9 almost have the same layout as the Zerotherm GX810.Would emailing the specific support team able to answer this kind of doubts?THanks..
*
IIRC, 7300gt and 7600gt lay out is quite similiar. try to compare both of that card. if the layout and the mounting holes is the same, this means that those cooler can fit on 7300gt smile.gif

as said by Doom, sending an email to those manufacturer is the best. smile.gif

Here is my Ati X1950xtx with HR-03 & 12cm TT smart case fan smile.gif
*
nice... how you mount the fan? what fan clips is that? is it stable?

QUOTE(Doom @ Jan 30 2007, 12:27 PM)
you run the system naked without case all the time ???

anyway .. how's the temperature of the card (Core/Voltage Regulator/ Temperature Chip)...

i am curious whether single 21cm fan is enough for the whole card...

i put dual CM 12 cm fans ...
*
1 120mm should be enough since HR 03 is recommended to use 90mm only. hhee

Watercooling? blink.gif  blink.gif  doh.gif
I already watercoo my processor and it already cost me near RM1000 sweat.gif  sweat.gif

Another watercooling kit for my 8800GTX is gonna cost me a bigger hole in my pocket. sweat.gif

I think you can afford it la.. I am drooling for your 1k W PSU!! rich fella!

QUOTE(vey99 @ Feb 13 2007, 11:07 AM)
Yo guys is anyone using cooler for 7900GS? What's the OC performance increase after change?

I considering to get a Zalman VF700CU to replace my leadtek cooler (which is oredi bigger than reference cooler for 7900GS)
*
I think stock cooler for 7900gs is good enough. I just bought a Colorful 7900gs. The temp is ok ok if you ask me unless your room temp is real high. Dont get the VF700CU else you will regret. Like said by other forummer, VF700 is more for older cards. Not good enough to cool any of those 'new' cards like x1900 series or 7900 series. By the way, the pricing difference between vf700 and vf900 only RM 60 or 70. Better spend that money for a fan controller and more fins smile.gif

QUOTE(vey99 @ Feb 13 2007, 04:36 PM)
I also want the VF900 also but so far no-one bulking the item, hard to find la...
*
moderno is selling it at RM165 or you can get for RM170-180 from lowyat plaza. PC Zone or Sri Computer.

If you want, probably I can loan you my zalman vf900cu. it is collecting dust in my room because it is not suitable for my x1950pro sad.gif

QUOTE(akachester @ Feb 21 2007, 11:16 AM)
Just got the time to assemble the Zerotherm on my 7300GT and it does look gorgeous.Way bigger than my old stock Galaxy HSF.Didnt have the time to upload the pictures as i am still at my hometown. Will do so when i got back to KL..

Anyway, these are the relative result i got on the Zerotherm. To be honest, i dont really know how to do testing. All of these temperature i got from the Nvidia Ctrl Panel. If any of you wanted more accurate ones, do let me know which program i should use and what i should do..lol...
These are the results using Zerotherm GX810 using the supplied silver TIM.Will change to AS5 when i get back to KL :
At stock speed (500/1400) :

GX810
IDLE - 47c
LOAD - 52c

Stock HSF
IDLE - 53c
LOAD - 58c

At OC speed (550/1500) :

GX810
IDLE - 49c
LOAD - 54c

Stock HSF
IDLE - 56c
LOAD - 60c

lol..good idea but wait till i got my time on it.Not really interested in getting any parts out right now before my new mobo arrives.Too many assignments to do...

Anyway, why u keep that Zalman away?It cant fit or not good for your ATI?

The ZEROtherm might be one of the easiest cooler to be installed on a GC as far as i can see.All you need to do is poke the screw into your GC PCB and screw the other end..And you are done...
*
VF900CU is as simple to install too. I kept the vf900cu in my cupboard because after installing it on my x1950pro. It didnt cool the VRM of the card, so the card will get overheated for sure.

I recieved an official reply from Zalman too and it said vf900cu is not recommended for x1950 series cards. Asked me to wait for the latest zalman vga cooler that going to release soon.

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Feb 25 2007, 01:17 PM)
There's two version of Arctic Cooling S GPU Cooler

S1 & S2

The S1 has four heatpipes.
The S2 only has two heatpipes.

Quoted from Theinquirer

But something stupid about this new heatsink is, it's newly launched, but Arctic Cooling don't even bother to make it applicable to Nvidia 8800 GFX Series. doh.gif

What the hell is those swiss engineers were thinkin'? shakehead.gif
*
Any idea whether can a 120 mm fan fit on that? I cant seem to find the answer anywhere

coolviva pro good or not? Planning to get 1 normal hsf for my x1600pro..

NO!! dont get that.. you are dumping your money to the sea if you get that. Get the Zalman VF700 series if you are tight on budget. OR the improved version Zalman VF900 series.

Perform MUCH MUCH better than coolviva.

Oh ya... If you can find those vga cooler from PC Cooler, grab that too. Very cheap and nice.

Oh yeah... Doom is perfectly correct about HR 03 Plus. It is the King of Air Cooling for 8 Series GC. But too bad the price is kind of steep sad.gif
