Can someone else drive the car if you are away with the key? Assume the engine is running but the smart key is with you.
*
There is no anti hijack safety mechanism for K5. In other words, once the engine is started, and the smart key is outside the car, the engine will continue to run and the car can continue to be driven. However, there will be a chime to warn/alert the driver that the key is now not in the car. Once the engine is stopped, the driver would not be able to start the car again without the smart-key.

New K5 facelift, I like the front look but the rear combination lamp doesn't look as good as current design.

Hi, I planned to buy a new K5 right now.

But question now is, what version of K5 now?? Is it 2012 or 2013??

If 2012, then will the 2013 version coming this year?
*
The new facelift will only come in by end of this year at the earliest or early next year. However, you won't get to enjoy the same great offer as the current model.

Hi Marcus, I can supply the Optima K5 body kit. Please see attached pictures. Is this the design that you want?
Thanks

Just one thing lacking in K5 and that is FRONT SENSOR for parking..it would be nice to have that upgrade in 2014 model..hopefully.. thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

There is an option to add the after-market front sensor through Naza authorised accessories supplier, which does not void your car warranty. Let me know if you are interested. However, there is no display or distance indicator provided. Thanks

Hi Buydirect, why would installing an after market front sensor voids the warranty? If i tap direct from the battery ... hang the sensor on the bumper, and pull a switch direct to the front.

in what way Naza will void the warranty since the user have not tapped any of the wires? in fact even if it is tapped, shldnt they investigate first before voiding the warranty?
*
I am not in position to comment on how 3rd party supplier actually fix the front sensor nor can I say whether SC will accept or reject any subsequent warranty claim. Yes, in event of any issue, the SC will normally investigate and warranty department will decide accordingly.

But as far as doing it with the authorised supplier is concerned, all uncertainty/doubts about car warranty from the addition of the front sensor is no longer a concern.

Thanks for the reply BuyDirect. you have been rather ethical in your replies and thumbs up for that.

I find it rather one sided, more like forcing kia owners to install equipments in this case, a safety equipment (front sensor) from Naza Authorized accessory shop (where is it btw?) instead of coming up with a better documentation as to how the warranty is void.

Since such enforcement is enforced, i'd say Naza should have a special price for KIA Owners for installation such as this, even for the installation of alarm systems at a special price for their customers, thus getting owners interested to install it at their appointed shops. Most of the time installation of such devices are way more expensive in Naza centers as compared to accessory shops.

Or probably i'm wrong in this?
*
All Kia sales outlets are able to organise installation of authorised accessories. Owners can approach your SA for more information on what accessories are available. The point of installation can be from the sales outlet itself, via appointment with the supplier.

As for the price being higher than the open market, I think it's the same with regards to servicing cost. We all know that servicing outside is much cheaper but we still go back to the authorised SC, mainly because of the 5 Year unlimited mileage warranty. From a manufacturer's point of view, I guess the prices of the accessories are structured in such a manner to offset the cost of the warranty. However, there is a need to strike a balance between a price that is acceptable to the public and something that is outrageously exhorbitant.

Hi All,

Any promotion for K5 Optima right now?

Thanks.

Stock for current K5 model is almost sold out, unfortunately. New facelift is expected to be launched by December at earliest, but it won't enjoy the same offer as the current model.

There is no KIA outlet in Bdr Tun Razak. My showroom is not too far away from there, if you don't mind travelling extra 6-8 km. Do PM me for details of my location if you plan to visit. Thanks

Official price for new facelifted K5 has yet to be released/announced. But early booking may help you get the car earlier instead of waiting after the official launch, more so when Chinese New Year holidays is just around the corner.

Hi BuyDirect,
Does it possible to get 2014 manufactured car before CNY? Thank you.
*
It's still too early to say and to commit 2014 car before CNY because the car has yet to be launched and no info has been released on the stock situation. This is my honest feedback. But if you book early and get yourself into the queue of early buyers, chances are higher than to book only after launching. If you'd like to know more about the terms of early buyers, do PM me. Cheers.

Heard that price has been confirmed.. 149,888
*
This is just a rumour, or it could be an indicative price only. Nothing is cast in stone yet as official price list is not out yet. It might turn out to be like another Picanto case. Indicative price for Picanto before launching was between 61-63K. But official price upon launching is RM59888. Hopefully the new facelifted K5 price would be no more than extra 3K compared to previous version, fingers crossed!

Any dealer can offer me good discount for 2013 stock? Im doing bargain hunting right now. Still havent decide whether to take k5 or mazda 6. Pls pm me ya. So far the highest that i got is rm8k rebate for white colour.

Going thru this thread from page 100 to this page, there are not much complains or defects for this car. Hmmmm... i wonder whether the quality/car is really good (as there are not much complains) since i got some problems with my wife's kia spectra.
*
FYI, Naza Kia has cleared all 2013 OPtima K5. There is no more stock. All buyers are now waiting for the new facelifted model expected to be launched in January 2014, next month.

Some teaser posters are being posted by KIA Malaysia, probably for the new facelifted K5. What do they mean? Any guesses?
