QUOTE(badboy1983 @ Jan 6 2014, 11:45 AM) Hi BuyDirect, thanks for the info. Just would like to check with you that the manufactory year of first batch units will be 2013 or 2014? First batch are 2013 since they are CBU, and shipping from Korea takes time. For 2014, you will have to wait until sometime in March. |

QUOTE(Stanley73 @ Jan 6 2014, 11:15 PM) Hi Sir, For this first batch of 2013 stocks, Naza is giving introductory offer of FREE 3 Year Service inclusive of labour and parts, which is worth RM3600. Price increase issue aside, one thing's for sure, 2014 stock will not enjoy this free service offer. Will 2014 manufactured K5 FL will cost the same at RM149888. Any idea because i was informed by SC(Bworth) today that they are unsure. I was very happy of the upcoming launching after waited for months yet felt very disappointed after knowing it was 2013 manufactured. Please any SC could help to advice...Million thanks... If you intend to use for long term, do not be overly concern on the year make. |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Jan 10 2014, 11:03 AM) The drop in resale value for the first year is about 10% especially for Korean cars. So getting a 2013 car in 2014 would mean that uve already lost about 15K. Giving out free servicing worth RM 3,600 cannot even come close to covering that. So even if you hold for long, the losses would be massive. If one were to sell off the car within 1 year or 2 years, the price drop may be around 10 to 15K, but in the real world, most use their car for at least 5-7 years or more. The difference in the RV would be reduced quite significantly after that. The RV for Korean cars has improved tremendously, as evident from the sales of new models with improved quality and reliability such as Forte. Actually, even if anyone buys and register a 2014 car and sell within the same year, the depreciation is already around 10%. So, the question is how big the gap is between 2013 and 2014. Just my 2 cents. |

QUOTE(shinoxun @ Jan 15 2014, 05:28 PM) The Optima K5 is a fully imported model from Korea. Normally, all units which are imported or even semi knocked down (S-KD) basis do not come with the wide screen touch screen /DVD player/ built-in GPS unit. The reason being, (in my assumption) is that when Naza introduce such an item, it must be able to respond to any frequent repair, replacement or warranty within reasonable time frame and the only way to do that is when they do their own sourcing instead of relying for stocks from Korea. Maybe it is also due to cost factor and the need for local customization i.e GPS licence which require a certain level of control. |

QUOTE(Kelvin Sidhu @ Jan 28 2014, 09:27 AM) hi, im new here.. finally completed all the neccesary arrangemt for the new K5 now just waiting for it to arrive at my doorstep hopefully by end of this week.. is there any advise i should consider in maintaning the K5 since im a first time kia user? Congrats and welcome to the club! It is close to Chinese New Year, hope you can get the car on time for the long holidays ahead. Do observe the break-in period for the first 1000 Km, if possible, no sudden acceleration or braking is advised. Cheers!i was a little dissapointed cause couldnt get the white color cause it was out of stock even though i booked it just 2 days after its launching and end up i took the satin metal.. |

QUOTE(terryfu @ Feb 17 2014, 05:54 PM) Hi all. I've been postponing my car purchase for a year now and am very impressed by the FL K5 only to realize it does not come with a built in GPS Get the K5 of course, without any shadow of doubt. It is feature packed, not to mention extra comfort and spacious interior and top class safety features! As for the built-in navi, there are options available in the market for upgrade. That said, I've made some enquiries and am still keen to make the purchase soon. Read thru the front page and saw all the tips when buying new KIA cars. FYI, my previous cars were Kelisa, City & 308T, so this will be my 4th make and am giving Kia a chance. Two cars are making me doubt my decision though which is the Civic Navi 2.0S and the Altis 2.0V with optional Nav both about RM 10k cheaper. Besides the airbags & Infinity sound (I love when they have gadgety stuff built in), should I save the RM 10k or really go for my first D-segment car. |
