Bro digitallife, may i know when you wash your car, what kind of clothes you are using to wash/dry your car?

If you're using microfiber clothes, any good brand of microfiber clothes can intro me, please?
*
I am using a microfiber cloth given by my SA.. so not sure the brand.. Think most microfiber cloth will do.

Does anyone "Rain-x" their top? Dont think there should be any issue with it?

i can't wait any longer.. this car looks so tempting! haha.. btw thanks for the info.. ermm..btw, why 2012 model got higher discount as compared to 2013?
*
The 2013 model not only no/less discount, may be even higher price ?

Every near year the older model will depreciate more in terms of value. To counter this they give higher discount so that people will buy it. The amount depreciated and the amount of discount may not be the same and is quite subjective.

Haa....same as me as optima k5 too tempting to me.  So I finally booked it by paying deposit and arranged bank loan yesterday.  Hopefully can get this baby next week if everything goes well.

Cause it is 2012 model which consider 1 year old car from point of view of second hand car dealer.

One more thing, I heard my SA told me not many 2012 model left, and with limited colour quantity.

Cheers!

thanks everyone.

let me test drive this car again and understand better. Sit in show room won't tell much.

so if i drive this car and carry 5 adults, and i go up genting highland, will it underpower? which i require to change lower gear?

I don't need strong pick up though, i don't race smile.gif

coz my current car Atos 1.1, when I step oil and hit 100, sure can hear the engine sound like "no energy". I don't want to buy a 2nd car which has same problems. This is even worst when i go bukit tinggi, max speed is 40 and really whole trip so slow and boring. I still like my car coz go pasar and nearby ok lo, but will k5 has similar problems with its body size?
*
I went up Genting with 2 adult. use manual mode and only use 2nd and 3rd gear, very smooth and engine is not struggling at all.

Have the following problems with my car
1) The steering wheel and gear stick of my car seems to be vibrating when idling.
2) the engine seems to sound and feel a little rough when accelerating hard. 3) I was overtaking last week and stepped on the accelerator hard but the engine just roared without surging forward (sounded like it went into neutral for a while).
The SC cant seem to find out what the problem is. He asked me to send the car in for a couple of days for him to check it out.
Anyone face these problems before?

I drive manual more than 90% of the time and things run so much smoothly with manual...

Dear all, may you guys share your K5 fuel consumption? It's so confuse when i search online where everyone comment not same, some say high consumption some say low.

And normal maintenance fee??

I'm planning to get a used K5, it is soooooo nice!

Hi.. below are my real life data. (Total KM - Litre of petrol for full tank, km/l calculation). Best is 12.88km/l, worse is 9.94km/l during the break in period. I drive 99% semi auto mode. Mostly with shell but not much different

Gas - K5 (804 - 68.42 - 11.75km/l - 7.8)
Gas - K5 (790 - 68.723 - 11.50km/l - 8.2)
Gas - K5 (693 - 66.32 - 10.45km/l)
Gas - K5 (665 - 63.68 - 10.44km/l)
Gas - K5 (1142 - (66.84 + 26.32) - 12.26km/l)
Gas - K5 (558.7 - 51.58 - 10.83km/l)
Gas - K5 (881 - 68.42 - 12.88km/l (7.5L/100))

Thanks bro, you definitely answered my question!! it is very useful and im so clear now... thanks!!!!

by the way, how much for the maintenance fee? 10k mileage per service right?

I saw your WTS wira post, did you drive wira before K5?

I am using a wira now too... just worry I can't afford the fuel expenses once i get a K5.. hahaha

Im speding RM 50 per week for my wira, but i dunnoe how far it can go bcoz the "mileage meter" not functioning long time ago... if you used to have to wira, can you help me calculate how much fuel expenses i have to spend for K5 if I'm spending RM 50 per week for my wira? thanks in advance~~

Love K5 sooooooo much...

I have the 3 years free service but I think each normal service is slightly below RM300?

My wira is special edition. I had the stock exhaust changed to a small one and the fuel consumption become a lot better.

Gas - WISE (411 - 34.21 - 12.01km/l)
Gas - WISE (456 - 40 - 11.4km/l)
Gas - WISE (500 - 40 - 12.5km/l)
Gas - WISE (391 - 33.165 - 11.79km/l)
Gas - WISE (558 - 40.79 - 13.68km/l)
Gas - Wise (494 - 39.474 - 12.515km/l)
Gas - wise (375 - 33.69 - 11.13km/l)
Gas - wise (454 - 38.45 - 11.81km/l)
Gas - WISE (459 - 41.58 - 11.04km/l)
Gas - WISE (477 - 41.05 - 11.62km/l)

Before change of exhaust below are my fuel consumption

Gas - WISE (445 - 43.785 - 10.16km/l)
Gas - WISE (392 - 42.70 - 9.18km/l)
Gas - WISE (378 - 32.98 - 11.46km/l)
Gas - WISE (479 - 44.87 - 10.66km/l)
Gas - WISE (402 - 41.90 - 9.59km/l)
Gas - WISE (467 - 42.70 - 10.94km/l)
Gas - WISE (421 - 38.64 - 10.89km/l)
Gas - WISE (406 - 41.13 - 9.87km/l)
Gas - WISE (258 - 22.70 - 11.37km/l)
Gas - WISE (425 - 41.08 - 10.35km/l)
Gas - Wise (425 - 42.17 - 10.08km/l)

From the numbers I dont see much different between wira and K5 after my exhaust pipe change. But Wira tend to be slightly better in fuel economy. But I must say driving K5 in semi auto mode really save a lot of petrol compare to fully Auto....
