Just outta curiosity, if i'm going abroad for 10days, should i left me petrol tank full or empty? does it even matter?
*
i dont think any issue to left your tank full, but wat more important is the battery... discharge your car battery cable that connected to your battery if possible.. have a safe trip dude smile.gif

Now I'm curious...why need to do that?
*
thats my workshop told me to practice that in order for your battery life goes longer... and battery need to recharge by ignite your car engine... im not sure about new car, but one of my gen2 and iswara had to practice that, or else the battery will die in 5 days time (and i need to jump start using jumper), maybe some of the electrical component is still running such as clock/ alarm and etc.. thus, it consume the battery .. and battery might dry out total if too long never start your car engine..

emm.. interesting. I think i'll pull out the whole battery. Jst in case. Haha!
*
this is even better dude, u can prevent your car get stolen .. but one thing is leceh about disconnect the battery.. everytime u connected back... you need to tune back some setting of your car, depend on car, as for K5, i think clock and radio station in your memory will need to tune back..the rest should be ok

QUOTE(digitallife @ Jan 15 2013, 02:59 PM)
Just some update about my experience with my new K5 last few days.

The auto wiper works with slight rain drop, increase the speed automatically with heavier rain. Overall works well. Plan to put Rain-X on my windscreen.

Auto headlight works really well..  turn on automatically at the right time. The HID is fantastic and the auto tilt with steering wheel is obvious. Can really see where you are turning to.

Blutooth connection is a breeze. Sound played from my Android phone is great, the bass a bit too strong for my liking. Maybe need to change the equalizer setting on my phone?. Can receive phone calls with ease. Not sure the other side can hear me clearly or not. The "up" and "down" button on the steering whell does not change the track front and back. Will try to figure it out why.

Have issue with my 8GB Sony pen drive. I followed the format instruction in the manual but the 8GB still doesn;t work, but it can work for my wife's 4GB pen drive. Size matter?

Can't complain about the driving comfort. Can feel the power even during the break in period. Still not stressing the engine yet.

Indeed the Nexen tyres a bit noisy. But I am out of budget. Will try use it until it wears off.

Makesure all the song is in MP3 format

Bro, i suggest you don't apply any Rain X or any chemical on the windscreen. Many of the K5's are facing a problem with juddering wipers (right side) which Kia is trying to find a solution for. If you go and apply Rain X and then you face a problem, Kia will not entertain you at all. Take my advice and hold off the Rain X for a few months. Its not a huge neccessity.

On the power issue. The K5 is no match for the Passat. Please dont ever tell ppl this la bro. Ull get laughed at.  biggrin.gif
The Passat has got 52Nm torque more than the K5 which is why its 0-100kmph acceleration is more than 2 secs faster.

All those who bought the K5 last year were well aware of the tyre inflation. It was shared on this thread and all of us ensured that we lowered the tyre pressure according to manufacturer's recommendations. My blowout was not because of that.
*
Dear bro Cybermaster98, thanks for the information..
i had applied rain X all this while.. chak lat liao...@@
anyway, my plan is if naza can solve the wiper juggling issue, i will go to sierra glow again to and i believe they can help to 'clean' the rain x b4 i send to naza authorize SC

on the pickup and power issue, i think im fine with it after installed Potent Booster.. this litter demon really like <removed> ..damn..i have to control my foot during jam..

Hi there, recently i am interested with the Kia forte koup or K5.
any idea where to have a test drive ? and any SA recommend?
I am from KL and buying my first car, kind of blur in this cases XD
Currently still comparing few type of car in this price range.
how's the fuel save for the k5?
handling ? Basically now i am driving persona from my dad
*
KIA Bangsar showroom got K5 test drive unit, but im not sure abut KOUP

FC is very depending on individual driving attitude, some K5 owner can drive around 8L/100km, but mine was always maintaining at around 11L/100km (heavy foot).. definitely u cant compare with persona 1.6, both are different segment , size and cc..

I went up Genting with 2 adult. use manual mode and only use 2nd and 3rd gear, very smooth and engine is not struggling at all.
*
K5 can cruise or "touge" aggrasively & nicely at Genting, ofcos you cant compare it with manual gear car performace, but with shifter and in manual mode, your gear can drag higher and u wont get the feeling that the auto gear will keep dropping your gear (without OD feature) after u manage to drag it up.. but the break were a little bit too soft on the downhill part... the only down side of doing Touge for K5 is, you wont know u on which gear when your steering is required moving around and blocked your middle indicator view when indicate your current gear possition...

QUOTE(dematrius @ Mar 21 2013, 01:20 PM)
dear bros,

what to they mean by K5 euro 4 model?
thanks in advance
*
this is the K5 latest engine model in Malaysia, launched somehwere in Oct last year compare with previous model which called/named as ThetaII engine, both engine are different, on paper, both fuel consumption, horse power and torge have different spec/result too.. furthermore, NU's k5 also have some extra feature compare with previous ThetaII engine, what i can remember is,

1. the signal and wiper knob has change side, NU car's signal is at left handside compare with ThetaII at the rigth hand side,

2. 4 sit-belt warning show in your indicator (thetaII warn on the driver side)

3. 4 full power window (ThetaII only have 2 at infront).. full power window mean with one press, u can open/close window, both rear passenger window
in ThetaII in power window but not fully, which mean u need to press the button to full open/close

4. This is import for me, front passanger seat door have an extra button to lock and unlock all door, this is a very very very very convenient button especially if the driver need to go out the car for wash room or buying something, you passenger doesnt need to CLIMB to the driver door to lock the door and CLIMB back to unlock the door..

Price wise, both are selling at the same price which is RM143,888 (on the road price before discount from your SA and NCD

pardon my 'england' and perhaps this will help smile.gif

FOr Nu Engine type, we have Cruise Control and also new feature = Speed Limiter"

when set the speed limit let say on 100km/h, no matter how you press the gas pedal, your top speed is only 100km/h max!
*
ThetaII have cruise control too, but not sure about the speed limit features, hornestly.. i didnt trust cruise control thingy, especially on highway, oredi sleepy enuff, if allow too many part of my body stop working, im surely will fall in sleep..
