i plan to diy using 3m metal brush type, but don dare try
*
I used stardust films for the V panel, same as bro markljh.. If you're actually interested with stardust film, I got extras you can have for free, if and only if you stay around SS2 and we can meet up smile.gif I got these samples from supplier for free to test and have an actual feel and look before deciding to wrap my car, but now I ended up plasti DIP'ing my whole car tongue.gif

Awesome bro..you can be the DIY specialist..seem like save a lot of money..how much did u spend to modify those things ?
*
If you're buying from forumers, it should cost about RM20+ for T4.2 x3 and T5 x1.. I bundled these extra LEDs when I import accessories from China, so I got it very very cheap biggrin.gif....

seems like u like blue color...

i prefer metal color or silver one, how mch sticker do i need for the v panel?
*
quite tricky if you want to wrap using brush series, because you would want the brush lining all going at the same direction, so you need to adjust the film and make sure it is in position, then only you can estimate how much film it is taking before you stick it.. if I'm not mistaken, its about 60cm x 100cm to wrap it..

here's how it looks like

Hi guys,

I'm getting the new vios 2013, J spec...

planning to change rim to 16... As i know if 17 the tyre will be more expensive

May i know what tyre profile fit the best in look & comfort ?

Most of the time i will be driving alone but sometimes will be fetching 3-4 pax...

Btw, i do not plan to change my spring or anything to lower the car...

Hope some sifu here can give some advice.

Thanks
*
Do you mean the latest Vios which just launched?
Actually rims and tyre price for 16 and 17 is very close, just add about 200 and you get 17 inch.. But performance wise, 16 is just nice, 17 is good in cornering but the car is a lot heavier.. I'm currently using 16 light weight, '11 facelift version, regretted because rim not big enough XD will upgrade to 17 in future..
You can choose not to lowered your car, but your car will be a lot higher after changing to either 16 or 17, most people get adjustable, when driving for vacations you can higher up your rear suspension so your car will be balanced after adding weight..

Thanks for your reply...

Been reading lowyat forum up & down...

Still thinking which brand for rim & tyre should i take...

17 Rim: Lenso, Advan, or any other brand??? I'm looking for Original with mid rang if with lightweight will be a Bonus

17 tyre: Mid range price & brand... any recommend???

Conclusion: Everything in Mid Range... I'm not a racer... Just wan safety & sometime up down genting with safety

Thank you guys
*
any 17 rim will do lah, just look for the design you want.. original aren't cheap at all through..
tyre, get Michelin PS3, NEVER Falken! Or you can go for Goodyear F1, Continental MC5 (which best, you should know, but which has mid range, I'm not sure)
Today was raining in the morning, when my car enters into another floor type which is similar to parking type of floor (semen floor with those annoying grip sound when you turn) and its wet, and I pedal hard, my wheels are spinning on the ground but my car is NOT moving at all, I was shocked shocking.gif DANGEROUS shakehead.gif my tyre is Falken ZE-522 205/45/R16..

finally got to test drive the vios trd today, my personal opinion is engine noise is very loud and engine have to rev hard to get a decent acceleration (compared to old vios).. suspension also very bumpy ride... the only good thing is cornering is more stable...now i know why they reluctant to let people test drive, even puchong showroom only allow test drive at 9am-11am on WEEKDAYS ONLY...i strongly suggest to test drive the car before deciding to buy! btw anyone also test drive the car and whats ur opinion?

Hmmm... Look Small maybe because of ur camera angle problem???

Now i'm in Dilemma...

15= i get comfort but not so sporting look but within budget to get Better Tyre

17= Sporty look, power lost, not so comfortable, Tyre expensive so can't get better Tyre...

Car confirm coming out next week... Need to make up my mind soon.... HELP
*
the trick is actually low profile tyre, 205/45, if you compare it with 17 inch same profile 45, it looks almost the same.. 2nd thing is the distance and gap between fender and tyre, 17 looks nice because it fills up the gap a lot more while mine has a lot more space, unless I lower my car then it will look just nice

Thanks guys for the advice on the rim & tyre...

After elevate my self as drinker & KL road condition is bad with holes all around...

I better stick with 15... If i take 17 with nice sporty look i worry later my pocket will have big hole just to fix the dental of the rim...

smile.gif
*
yes 15 is just nice for everything! 195/55/R15 Goodyear NCT 5 or continental CC5 (I heard from colleague saying that continental wasn't that good, he swap to NCT 5 after that) or Michelin PS3 for best performance but a lil pricy

QUOTE(vios2002 @ Oct 18 2013, 11:41 AM)
wah if 15" is small then im using 14 even smaller...

if u mention "kena" when do big turning means could be the rims offset is not suitable for the car.  Nothing wrong or to do with 17"

many people put 17" 9jj rota, of course will kena lah.. If standard rim like 17" 8jj is quite ok

Just came back from Rawang...

Visited 3 tire shop... 2/3 sell Taiwan rim

1 shop sell original Lenso rim... Been quoted for RM1.8k for 17"...

If those taiwan rim RM1k-1.2K for 17"

By comparing the rim size between 15 & 17... Is damn big different...

Now my heart itchy... Haiz...
*
racing art sdn bhd/federal eh?? Take 16 lah my friend if you have never mod any performance on your car, you xan immediately feel the weight when you upgrade to 16, honestly thank god to K&N air filter and custom exhaust by super circuit, I still have that power, much better than stock Vios

You can look for designs in his photos before you goo through..
But if you are about to take 17, your tyre is extremely low profile, else you will hit your fender when you do turning..
I'm not familiar with Rawang too! I just use Drive+ from my Nokia phone to that address and found them biggrin.gif they are just around the corner of the bus stop there..

my car langgar something now the passenger door scratched  and dented.. new car.. can go to normal workshop to spray instead of going to service centre? Will the warranty be voided if I go to normal workshop to get it fixed?
*
wah so fast?!! Why so careless.. You can find any mud guard to settle it, there is no warranty void to these things, you can make custom body kit on your car until it looks like batman car also Toyota won't do anything to you.. There are only a few things covered by Toyota, you might wanna check T&C for details..

if ori stock vios no mod, not recommended to take 16"? will be heavy?
stay 15" is the best?
*
your spec? Mine is J spec, comes with steel rims, when I first change to 16", the respond time and pick up is very bad, when you want to overtake a car which is about the same speed as you, you will feel it is harder for the rpm to reach up compared to stock ones
