Glad to be of assistance. smile.gif

If you compare the $18 price tag at SP with this guy's price http://goo.gl/clm56, you got yourself a great deal (exactly 40% discount). The guy's mark-up, however, is a crazy 66.67%! (profit of $12 off a $18 cost) IF I was into Cherry MX keycap swapping and collecting, I think it would be good to know the true value of the keycaps and how much is kept by the group buy organizer. A small compensation for time and trouble is OK, in my opinion - like a service charge. But at 2/3 the cost price of the item ?!?  rclxub.gif

Beautiful red keycaps, by the way.
*
It is unfair to say that Ragnarock marked them up without knowing whether SP is making any money off this, IMHO, or they are just trying to minimize losses.

Crap, the 199$ Topre Realforce 104U was sold out and they will no longer bring them in anymore. I guess I'm not going for Topre anymore since I liked it because it was white. sad.gif

EDIT: on the other hand, Ducky 9008 shine II is in.

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_p...oducts_id=21035

but i really despise the ducky extra 4 keys on the top right, can anyone tell me how to stop them from working? i always accidently press "browser" and then mozilla pop out, it's more annoying than the windows button.

Clearing stock probably due to bad response hmm.gif

Putting an ssd into your computer is like moving from rubber domes to mech.
You could probably live without it, but once you made the switch, you wont go back ever.

does Rosewill mechanical keyboard have same
quality like filco?
*
Design might be a little bit different between Rosewill and FILCO, but QC and the type of material they use should not differ much since they come from the same factory.

Barring the ugly Rosewill Logo, everything should be great.

Added on September 11, 2012, 8:49 pmBtw I found tat topres keycaps juz similar wif my ducky stock keycaps which is ABS hmm.gif the surface not as rought as PBTs tho..
*
That's the point.
Topre caps are nice. F and J keys are slightly rough, the modifiers are a bit rough, but the rest are so smooth.

I'm thinking of getting an ultra compact ones like the Poker. Who has experience using it and some feedbacks?
Googled the reviews some say the PCB rattling.

How does the fn works for those have experienced? Easy to get used to?

p.s I love the box for KBC Poker.
*
POKER has stopped production.
There is indeed some PCB rattling in there. But I stuff the bottom with old bubble wrap, or if you want it to look nice, some handphone mat, Tesco got, very cheap also, and just cut to the size you like.

user posted image

You can opt for KBT Pure without backlit, which makes it really easy to mod, but admittedly, it cost more than the KBC poker when it was out.

About the HHKB, i love the whites. But at the time I get them, the only ones left for US$270 were black. Whites went for $300. No choice already. sad.gif

Btw, these are coming soon, for cheaps (relatively to other types of PBT Dye sub sets)

Lol i think i confused u tongue.gif
Nope, the Filco Blue is much more solid than the Poker, because it has a metal plate inside, and the quality of the plastics used to make it is much better. Overall its a better product.

But as a portable keyboard, the Poker is good because of its lightness. Sure there are some rattles here and there due to the so so build quality, but i like that i can bring it around tongue.gif.
*
I found that Original Case + padding feels better than just putting it on a Alu Case. The Alu Case just helps a bit, but the padding to prevent the PCB from rattling really helps to improve the feeling a lot.

The rattle is due to the hollowness, and also the lack of a screw in the middle to hold it down.
Putting padding underneath the PCB helps a lot in making the key press feel more solid, as well as reduce the rattling, especially in the numbers row.

You should give it a try, since it is a very low cost mod.

If you want a metal shell keyboard, you can consider the TypeNow solid. It is a metal shell with FC200R body.
Not much problem with the spacebar.

However, the build quality is not as good as the custom made ones since this is mass produced.

Guys, question.

Is Topre really that comparable to MX Switches? Some devil has been whispering in my ear asking me to get one yawn.gif

EDIT: Not trolling, if I see review saying the difference is big, I'll surely get one.
*
The jump from Rubber dome to Mx Switches is a big jump, and feels nice.
Jumping from MX to Topre, you might not feel the difference at all, at first. The difference is in the more solid, smoother keypresses. Feels like how a proper rubber dome should be made.

As Kai said, the different are not as obvious as you switch from membrane to Cherry Mx,
but as time goes by, the Topre switch will grow in to you slowly,
until you one day when you try Cherry again, you will feel that the Cherry are not so good.

When I use Cherry Mx switches, I feel that they are content and good,
but when I change to Topres, I feel that there are some different that are difficult to describe,
after using it for a few months, I pull out my Cherry Mx red again to type on,
I feel that the Cherry are not so comfortable to type on compare to Topre.

The Topre switches is very unique, even if you tried it, you might not get a hold of how it feel,
people need time to get used to it, and once you are used to it, you will never want to use any other switches.

What do you think of that one? the price vice?
is it just a Leopold FC200R with a metal case?

Keyboard story are having a promotion of international order above $50 gets free shipping....
I m considering it......
*
Korean price should be quite the same.
But for Rm1200, it is certainly not cheap, because it is a mass produced keyboard after all. I mean, for the same price, you can ask MKC to make a custom case for you.

QUOTE(myd51rl21v @ Sep 14 2012, 01:50 PM)
I'm beginning to think that it is more to an intrinsic value type item. I have the MX Blue, have to say it is sufficient for now, but after awhile I'm beginning to think that something felt wrong when typing with the switches.

Clearly, the design of Topre, which I see apply a quite uniform pressure to each keypress, making the tactile feeling of typing quite noticeable. This is why I asked need the review of all sifus around here, so see either it is reasonable for me to make the switch to Topre.
*
If you have the money, it's the next step to go after trying out MX.

MKC custom case huh....?
What's MKC custom case?
any one have a full review with photos of that?

I don't think I can do anything with a custom MKC case alone,
without the PCB with switches on board......

I do not know where to shop for a good quality PCB board,
I do not know where to get the switches and how to solder the switches......

Or is it possible to make a custom MKC case for a Realforce?
but that is available from Topre officially too......
available @ RM750++
*
Refer to the geekhack GB or MKC's taobao site for details.

Realforce case is not as good. It consist of two piece of metal slapped together. I think they were bended. The top is nice, but the back is meh. It does not have the feel like the korean customs, nor the TypoNow solid either. That's why it is so cheap anyway.

It don't feel right.  tongue.gif

I've tested my friend's CM QFR(for about 1 week, we swapped) it feels more solid. the space bar/shift is not so shaky compared to KC. I never tried a Filco before. Maybe its just me feeling things or thinking too much. doh.gif

BTW it cost around RM230 plus shipping.
*
I should probably let you try the WYSE with cherry stabilizers
Then you know what is a plastic and solid cherry mx board biggrin.gif

Plus, when it was available last year in TB, it was RM200 shipped to me. A new WYSE at that.
