agree hehe hopefully topres will make some bling kb, backlited is super enuff haha...to be honest I now juz abandoned my ducky yotd for topres and its weird haha coz I really love backlited plus black case kb but topres still attract me more even tho the design is juz plain simple!

Likely will not happen.
Main topre buyers are corporate customers in japan. They are not targeted at gamers.

hmm tat suck, nvm then. Btw the base kit seem a bit pricy or the price juz normal? is it the stepped capslock only can be used on kmac and some other custom one?
*
Normal Price.
Stepped caps lock comes in center stem and off center stem.
Center stem is filco. Off center stem is korean custom or cherry brand boards, except the mx3800.

Where can I get the keycaps? Not the CC of course.
And the price? hmm
*
WYSE keycaps set with WYSE moogle kit.
WYSE keycaps from the keyboard, pretty easy to get. WYSE Moogle kit was a one deal moogle GB, those are harder to get.

I think some of you have already notice that I won this set of item from Geekhack small auction,
you all see some of its keys are repeated, if any of you interested with them,
let me know, I will quote you a price or tell you I do not want to sell them.

The price I won is $46, what do you all think? is it consider high or ok ok?
*
Just thinking that it is a bit expensive. That's just me. tongue.gif
Those F keys, they are from the SoWaRe Error set.

What does SoWaRe Error set mean?
does that mean that are rejected keycaps?

Added on September 18, 2012, 12:29 pm

Not sure that is a pbt or a double shot.
Will let you know the price when it arrived!

Added on September 18, 2012, 12:31 pm

Go get a separated NumPad from Topre or Filco!
then you can use the NumbPad at your left hand side,
and the mouse at your right hand side.

Added on September 18, 2012, 12:49 pm

There is no extra for the green weed face,
Will let you know the price of the Geek Hack when it arrived,
Probably is Double Shot ABS.
*
Well, they look like rejects. But I am not sure whether they are just rejects or they are from the SP grab bag that was up recently.

Hey guys, wanna ask .. are squeaky keys ( particularly on the bigger keys e.g. spacebars and shift ) a common occurrence in mechanical keyboards ? How many of you have experienced it or is currently using a keyboard that squeaks ?
*
These things happen.
Just put some lube on the joints where they move, underneath the stabilizers and they should work fine.

I see, could you recommend a reliable place to get one of those lubes in Malaysia ?

I'm a bit scared of removing the keycap and consequently damaging the parts lol.
*
Get silicone based lube. Do not get mineral oil based, those will kill the plastic.
What keyboard are you using?

Most of the boards in the malaysian market, it should be hard to get them damaged. Unless you are using those ring keypullers.

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Sep 19 2012, 04:29 PM)
i think is a hhkb lite2
*
There are no markings on the bottom right of the case.
Though, it's not a lite. lite has arrow cluster.

Ring keypullers will damage the switch as well? I thought will damage the keycaps only.
Mind to explain how?
*
Ring Keypuller provides uneven keypull tension on the stem.
This means that it is easier for the stem to get out of the housing, sideways. Once the housing gives way, you have to do operation on the keyboard already.

It wasn't nice. I had to do it once on my keyboard due to the keys from KBC that were too tight.

QUOTE(mikelanding @ Sep 19 2012, 05:57 PM)
That is definately not lite version. Lite = arrow key.
Maybe a HHKB version 1 with no 2 extra USB ports.
*
Also, Pro2 has USB port to the PC in the middle

I still feel the tactile feel of the brown switches. But the actuation seems lighter than other keys. Also higher pitched when I bottom it out.

I did Google for answers and a lot of posts from GeekHack said it was soldering problems. But I purchased this on the 8th of September, man. Died dam fast.

Initial signs before death was unresponsiveness. And I thought my program was lagging when I was trying to backspace.
*
Possible a dead diode, switch, or broken trace.
Just send it back for RMA.

I'm wondering which mx switch I should get.
Black? Blue? Brown? Red?
I has no chance to test them out as shops in my place doesn't provide testing service.
This would be my 1st mech kb, so I hope I could the mx switch that is nice for me.
The kb is mostly used for gaming like sc2.
*
Get brown. They are well balanced among the four in terms of force, noise and feel.
Most people like browns.

considering about blue, but it's not that nice when double tapping and sc2 require u to tap a key more thn twice. How would it affect the gameplay?

How does Rosewill do in brown switch?
*
I don't have issues gaming with blues, though admittedly, I don't do that many double taps.

Name your budget lo.
Otherwise don't know how to recommend.

People here, when you don't say budget and ask for recommendation, they can come up with Rm1k keyboards. tongue.gif

I like MX Red for the soft, smooth, and linear action. I type on it almost 12+ hours a day. Brown lacks the smoothness that Red has, and lacks the particular clicky feeling that blue has. Yet it is the most demanded cherry MX key...laugh.gif
*
Brown is the most balanced among them that's why.
Since you are so busy, I don't think you'd ever have to time to try out clears with 62g or Vintage Black with 62g.
Those are heavenly.
