Just got a new lappie, so my Dv6 will be pass down to my dad. Haha
Just wanna ask how can I reformat my com and reinstall windows using the recovery disc. I've tried to check online but no solution
You reinstall your windows to ssd before right. Do you know how ?

i have the recovery disc but i got this HP_tools partition still.

is Recovery option still available for you when you press F11 on boot?

when i switched to SSD i simply reinstalled a fresh window and use the COA key to activate my window.

I've decided to stick with this laptop.
But I'm planing to change it to an SSD and to Wins 8.
Has anyone switch to wins 8 yet ?
Is there any driver problems for the gpu ?
And my budget for the SSD is around Rm400+- .
Any recommendations ?

For RM400+ i think Samsung 840 Pro 128GB is a good choice. For more budget friendly, get Plextor M5S or the good ol' Crucial M4.

saw some benchmark, apparently the dv6 is still better
i think I'll go for the crucial m4.
anyone using wins8 on the dv6. so far any probs with the drivers ?

Oh goodie, what gpu drivers are you using ? Are the leshcat's one usable ?

Yup, my laptop work flawlessly with UnifL 13.2 Beta 5, i can't switch to AMD GPU with UnifL 13.3. You mileage may vary.

Or do I need to install the HP driver before the leshcats ?

Oh yeah 1 more thing Acid, when you install the leshcat driver, do you get the watermark thing on the bottom right ?
I've checked, if you remove it using the tool, under computer -> properties -> windows is activated -> (click view details in windows activation) -> current edition(would be blank) instead of stating your version. Is this because of the DSE ?

Yeah it is because of DSE. I going to try his latest public test driver, he use a signed driver so its not gonna use DSE.
